Kind of reminds me of a book I read. Book 3 in Brian Lumley's Necroscope series. Alien shapeshifter in a clear glass tank tries to convince one of the characters to release it by imitating one of his co-workers. The copy of her is "nude". But since all it knows about anatomy is what it has seen, the copy of her has no characteristics that would normally be seen under her clothes. The copy has no nipples, no genitalia, and no toes due to it never have seen anyone without shoes.
