"I can't believe I'm doing this again." MC mused out loud. "What do you mean again? Look, I told you. You bumped your head and dreamed it all up!" Ms. Okita had told him this 100 times already. "But the earrings.." MC started. "Coincidence! Your consciousness didn't time travel. It is scientifically impossible." Her tone is a matter of fact. "Well.." MC began. "Please just stop," She said with exacerbation. "I tested this before you got here, and it works. All that remains is human testing." She said, looking at MC, "I came prepared," he showed her the bag he had prepared for the journey. "Odd choice of fashion," She remarked as she looked inside the bag. "I have a time in mind. There is someone I want to meet". He said. "I assume you have seen and read all you could about the consequences of time travel," she questioned. He nodded yes. "Ok, hand over your cell phone and wallet, and get dressed." He did as he was told. "Ok, get in the machine and strap in." She ordered. While he was doing so, she explained what everything did and how it worked. "Now, when you get there, you have to hide this in a good spot where no one will find it, and it won't get damaged or corroded; the longer you go back in time, the longer it will take to recharge. One week equals 1%. MC nodded and set the coordinates. "Ok, good luck," and she shut the hatch. MC pressed a button, and the machine roared to life. There was a rumble, a blinded flash of light, and a sensation like he was being stretched far too thin, and when he couldn't take it anymore, it stopped, and there was a crash. MC took a moment to gather his wits. He opened the hatch and looked around. Ms. Okita was gone, and there were just woods. He checked the timer; he had 6 months before the machine could use it again. He pushed the machine deep into a nearby cave, gathered his backpack, and headed to town. Everything was different, but he ignored them. He came here for a reason. He arrived at Summerville High; it looked a little smaller than today. He walked in the familiar halls and past people he recognized. Harold and Helen were talking by the lockers, and they seemed happy. Passing by the changing rooms, he saw Crystal in a cheer uniform leading three guys into the boy's room (what a slut). He looked to the right and saw Tammy coming out of the gym teacher's office with equipment (She's always a health nut). Larry was tuning a guitar by the auditorium doors. The Hall monitor, Earl, stopped him (he was thin), who wanted to know who he was. MC said he was a transfer student looking for the principal's office. Earl directed him and turned his attention back to a woman he assumed was Jackie. On the second floor, he went into the cafeteria. Richard was sitting in the back studying blueprints with Lucy fussing with his hair (what did she see in him?) Then he saw Diane and Debbie, and his jaw hit the floor. He thought they looked good before, but they were stunning now. They saw him staring, smiled, whispered something, and giggled. Breaking his daze, he spied Ms. Boyle with Beth next to her. Beth was making eyes at a man MC knew all too well. His father, Frank, even had a peach fuzz mustache. He was so overwhelmed with emotion he was about to cry when there was a tap on his shoulder.
