You know, if DC doesn't either release the Tech Update, release content on a monthly basis within 3 months or stops being consistent content after said months, the game should be considered abandoned regardless of the tag.

Just saying.

At the end of the day people still really like Summertime, otherwise they wouldn't have any investment in it in the first place. I think its fine to be invested in a game, even if its porn, just don't become obsessive over it I guess.

There's some good 2D games out there but I have yet to find one that's better than StS. I'd like to hear some suggestions from you.
Fair play. Summertime was one of but not the first game I played from this site. Before that I had played some Japanese adult VNs.

This game generally still holds up, I just think others outdo in the graphics department.

Here's some I like, What A Legend (Similar dev cycle as this right now), Our Red string (traced 2d art), Aurelia (pixel art but better gameplay), four elements trainer (about the same as SS if you like the avatar anime).

Null Hypothesis the Xmen parody has good reviews but I haven't got round to playing it yet.

From the mentioned VNs, Euphoria is still memorable because of its extreme but good story. Fate Stay was a great VN but barely has any h scenes.

Well, if you start a fuss about DS being a lying asshole and wait a bit, one of his shill will come and convince you, that (here you roll 1d2):
1 - the game is completely complete with all further updates being just a pleasant bonus.
2 - devs are working hard and updating daily, just don't release stuff coz of intense testing. Just wait a little bit. Just a little bit.

I have never seen your second point being commented here non-ironically. I don't think there is anyone defending DC and saying that.

I recognize all those games except Euphoria, I really like Aurelia although it's a bit light on content, and WaL has a great setting and cool art but feels stiff and unfortunately isn't animated IIRC. The other ones I could take or leave, even as a huge Avatar fan lol

I dont know, Summertime Saga is just the best 2D game out there for me. It's not perfect but it has a vibe that makes it fun to make progress around the sandbox, and I think the art and characters, while not perfect, are great. There's also a lot of content and its animated for the most part.

The games from Siren's Domain are kind of in the same ballpark, and Demon Deals, while not for everyone because of the exaggerated bodies, captures the same feel.

Sorry for yapping lmao

I think it doesn't matter what will happen to this game. it's already dead to many who were fans and were supporting DC. I personally stopped donating when he couldn't push any updates after 4 months. it's stupid to keep paying for two years for an update that will not change anything about the game. the main story was reaching a dead end. the writing was getting worse & worse.

RIP summertimes.

Euphoria is one of the most messed up stories I have ever encountered in any media. Its been a long time since my one playthrough. You have been warned if you try it, its as much a horror vn as porn.

Back then in 2017 when I was playing this game and Man of the House, I thought SS will be completed and MotH will be abandoned but it turns out the opposite were true.

Talk about disappointing. Not only do they keep swindling and scam that pateron support money on empty bullshit excuses, but we never really got to knocker up our gyaru girlfriend, or enjoy the wonders of a proper harem. Sure, some could say yeah it was technically finished in terms of the main story, but at the same time, there is so much content missing with characters and other paths that were/are barely even touched on. So can't say I'm surprised and can't wait to see what excuse the devs put out.

I think that not even the most harcore fanboys can use an argument as false as 2, my prediction is that abandoned saga will only have real content next year, since the tech-update will only change the game's background.

Our Red String would probably be better if it didn't have traced art and only had a single protagonist. This whole dual protag thing makes the game too unfocused considering how much variable shit is going on in the back in regards to corruption levels and what not. And, well, there isn't really any story going on. Even Summertime Saga gives the girls a notable plot that is theirs and MC has the whole 'my father is dead!!!' thing.

No, ORS would be better if EK didn't pander to fetishists 99% of the time, actually focused on her story, hired some more help to help her write, and didn't waste 3-4 months on a proposed update consisting of 10-15 worth of content, even though hyping it as a big update. The dual protag is fine, but certainly does get messy at times, especially since there are inconsistencies with things, but thats more a branching and fault on EK for not keeping track of things.

Dang, same here. Tbf it was still in good quality when I stopped pledging (2018-2019?). I haven't played in a long while and heard the commotion recently and damn dude's making millions. People never learn. Meanwhile you have a lot of sub-$100 devs that are actively developing their games who deserve more support, feels bad.

Most devs take the milking route when they get too big. I was complaining about Evakiss' game yesterday but at least she still updates constantly, people mostly complain about her story going all over the place. Darkcookie has no interest to develop this shit properly anymore, and by the time he decides he's done milking, there will still going to be thousand$$ left in the milking tank.
That's because instead of finishing the story they just keep adding to it, much harder to maintain a cohesive story that way. Trying to turn a game into a live service game mid dev is a mistake.

You're hopeful. I'm doubtful. I'm thinking no earlier than 2026 for new content... unless he decides that since the chunks are going to be character centric, with "focusing on adding in whole character routes at a time" and he decides to add R(h)onda, Annie and/or Judith routes within some of those chunks.

Again, going back to the knowledge that DC is a shit project manager and doesn't have good job estimate skills.

Yeah, that was already posted here 3 days ago by the same person who does it every month, Hero1. And they did it behind a spoiler so that it wasn't a wall of text. Oh, and they included the high resolution version of that image, as well.

It's what the past two dozen pages have been discussing, on top of the new flag, for the past 3 days.
