NLT is the benchmark when it comes to erotic game devs.
NLT does everything right, but I do wish at times that he'd spend a bit more time on developing a few more characters and on "game features" in general. I can live with items popping up because it's convinient and all the other "shortcuts" he takes, but in the end you basically get like ~40% of the scenes because you find/take item X (Paricia/Jessia) or because you get them as booty calls. That's bascially what DC did in Jenny's old story and I'm personally not the biggest fan of that.

I mean, it's nice for porn games to get the scenes in without having to care about anything else, but I'm quite happy that DC stopped it. Having said that, Treasure of Nadia is certainly a huge step up for the genre in general.

But yeah, NLT is very focussed on getting his releases out. I personally woudn't be surprised if the game is actually close to being done internally by now.

Good news seems like DC has run out content to work on stream which indicates that at least the art part of the update is almost done. Last stream he was saying that he will probably stop streaming for 1 or 2 weeks to work on the rest of the art.

Does anyone know if they changed their mind about putting the next update in two parts parts cuz it looks like we're just going to get one big update now

And have people complain endlessly about it, like they did with Research Into Affection?

Well, you will get used to it. I was not a fan of the art at the beginning, but I find it quite good looking now ;)

And as others pointed out, not every girl has huge boobs.
Well, damn you're right. I'm.. I don't know how many hours in now, and it HAS grown on me, and I have to say this game is truly and properly great! Writing and gameplay is actually SOLID for once. I've attempted to play so many of the games linked on this forum these past couple of months and most of the writing ranges from bad to offensively cringy, but this is one solidly written story. I'm enjoying this game a LOT!

This game has many patrons because it's free in the first place, because the threshold to support it, in case you want to, is $1 a month and because DC streams five times a week and is doing so for years. For the same from NLT you'll have to pay $25 a month and that's why I'm actually pretty sure that NLT will make more money by now, just like Adeptus Steve.

Having said that, the games are very much the opposite in many aspects. Not only because it's animation versions hand drawn 2D, but also because Treasure of Nadia is very focussed around getting scenes in/releases out while every other aspect of the game is quite simple and tailored around that. SS focusses a lot more about stories and details in general, which, some might say sadly, costs a lot of time.
kinda right about that I mean...
NLT uses a lotta assets in the game, he can focus on what really matters a lot more. its efficiency. (scenes, coding, bug sqaushing, voice work, etc) SS has EVERYTHING you see in game 2d drawn. SS art is top notch, so are NLT models+animation. but NLT animation workflow is much more efficient with a 3d object. 2d animation is from the ground up drawn frame by frame.
however, you CAN compare these two especially in the aspect of story. I mean you said it yourself: SS focuses a lot more on stories and details.
I think NLT beats DC my a million miles when it comes to story. as much as all the characters in SS have something to them thats charming, the execution is often weak af(except roxxy which every1 agrees is the best update, and it hasn't been done like that again so it would be considered an exception)
in SS most characters often just instantly fall for MC almost day 1 without prior backstory/ very little context. for ex: the aunt, mom, friends mom, childhood friend, every teacher, just about every woman you meet is attracted to MC just because. although you could say its 'win cuz big dick/big money' kinda plot, but its starts off like a porn plot right off the bat. meanwhile TON, only 3 women start off liking MC sexually: the sis, the slut+sluts daughter. in TON, yes its still 'win cuz big dick+money' but there's resistance. The characters have their own goals throughout the story. MC has to break each woman down and earn their lust. TON MC is a cocky chad that actually seduces women, SS MC is an apologetic middling average guy, he only gets pussy from women who throw themselves at him. its japanese harem MC plot.
porn plots aren't all bad. I just don't want it to takes itself too seriously, thats when its cringe.

NLT has VISION, DC doesn't. matter of fact a lot of story in SS has been reworked, and since updates are by vote, progession with the story can change+be out of time sequence. NLT has tangible end goal that everyone can feel when they play. we know its going somewhere. I can't say the same for SS.

@mufasas:
Well, I'd disagree about the story. TON essentially has a nice main plot which is catchy and well done, while everything and everybody else more or less only serves that plot or is there to serve some kind of taste without getting a real story, while some characters (like Jessica or Pricia) will probably never get any story at all and only serve as a backup for scenes. In the end TON is very, very focussed on placing scenes etc. no matter whether they really make sense or not. That's fine because it's a porn game, but it doesn't always help the plot. I'd say it's actually a drawback of NLT's release concept since you've got to get scenes in every update, and thus literally every ~8 min of playtime. I don't really see the breaking down part you mention, since in the end it's 100% clear what's going to happen and he doesn't really spend the time to actually elaborate the story to that degree that actual tension would arise. To me it's just teasing and not much more.

DC on the other hand basically aims to let each main girl have a plot comprable to Roxxy/Eve/Jenny/etc. which is just a very different concept. In TON the main story is what the game is about, in SS it's just an arc of many.

Well, I'd say you are right and wrong about that. SS was never even supposed to be a game, but a coding exercise for DC to teach himself working with Renpy, which became popular and continued to grow. So in late 2017 he essentially had to decide to either improve the game to the level and to finish it properly or to simply half-ass an end as quickly as possible and to move on to the next proper project. Without these reworks the game would probably be a huge mess by now, like it happend to The Twist and others.

Since 2018 DC seems to have a pretty consistent plan on what he wants to do and since then everything is fine. I mean, there's an official roadmap for SS out there (currently ~55% done) and DC sticks to it. All that's in question is the order in which the stories will be released.

Sure, the way the content on which to work next is decided is different, but in the end the votes are what patrons pay for. I mean, that's why SS is free and TON costs $25 per month.

Neat. Soooo probably another month then. Still, it's good to have an end in sight.
