Actually, I was subbed to his Patreon since just after the Roxxi update came out, until he announced that .20 was being split in half (later to be thirds), re-upped for a month to vote in the 6 scenes for the tech update, then canceled at the end of the month. So no, I've put money into this game, and since I did pay in, I have the good god damn right to be pissed when I see the dev dragging ass, and making one decision after another that keeps things moving at a snail's pace.
This is where the accusations of milking come from! DC can take actions to make sure things are done in a timely manner, with the same quality, such as hiring more people (not even artists, just coders, and writing staff), but he won't do that. And the only logical reason I and many others can see for that, is it goes against his financial best interest. After all, why spend money out of that Patreon on a bigger team, and get done on time, when you can earn more by slow-walking that shit, break the .20 update into three pieces, and stretch a 6-7 month release window out to 18.
