Is it just me or is Jenny the worst "sister" to ever exist in every adult game ever created?

Character-wise, she's the worst in the game. She always complains about everything and is never satisfied with anything.

If you cum inside she complains, if you cum outside she complains. If you ask to see her breasts she charges money. If you ask her to sleep with her, she charges money.

Her character development is reversed, she gets worse as events unfold. It's hard to believe that the person who created Jenny was the same person who created Maria (hell of a woman!).

Dude we all feel you. There's a a LOT of people here that love SS with all their heart, and they don't want to criminalize DC nor stop the game for being produced. All this hatred feelings splashed on this forum have a reason: we all love SS, and we all want to see the last version of this great game. But at the same time we love this game, DC needed a warning that he hasn't take the right path with planification of the tech update, and after the 1st year, decisions should've been taken (more coders, reprogramation of the chores...)
DC is a great guy, and the major part of the people knows that. But a warning from the fans is needed, just to change something, because we don't want to lose this love for the game

I'm a big believer in voting with your dollars and there is nothing wrong with your opinion. There is a lot of truth to it from what I can see and it's stated in a very respectful way. This, to my mind, is how differences should be handled. Our culture, in general, has gotten to a point where people just can't agree to disagree or have spirited debate and conversation. There has to be vitriol attached to it. I imagine if DC see's a big enough drop in monthly income, it will send a strong message and who knows how he'll handle that.

I have a handful of reasons why I quit being a patron, some personal and some that regard the game. Like I said in my original post, I didn't enjoy the Eve update, but it was wildly popular. The fan base shifted after the Roxxy and Eve updates, which is just how the world works and I get that. It gained in popularity and shifted away from the family unit and choices. Choices were unpopular. I really wanted to see an opportunity to choose Grace instead of Eve in that update and I really hoped DC would have done the Debbie update right after the Diane and Jenny update. The whole thing right now is clunky and jarring when going back and fourth between the old and new art constantly. Once again, I also had personal reasons as well and, when I added it all up, I decided it was time to play the game for free. I have zero regrets being a patron and I have zero regrets playing for free. I voted with my dollars and I'm content with that.

Those guys are great over there. I got nothing but respect for them. DC is running a business and he has to run that business the best way he sees fit. I hope he gets over this hurdle and things return to being smooth for him and the team.

720k USD a year dude... when was the last major update again and how much content did it have? Stardew Valley had 1 dev and none of that funding, took less time to release, actually finished, continued to be improved upon after release, and after becoming a millionaire the dude hired more staff to add more to the game.

Terraria only had 11 and that's a massive undertaking.

I was exaggerating for effect but with the kind of ridiculous funding this game is getting he can afford to work infinitely faster even if that means hiring people to help. Heck, even I've worked on bigger projects that get more things done with a fraction of the cashflow.

First of all I'm not really sure that every $ of those 720k is received by DC, as probably half of that money is kept by Patreon.

After that, I agree that if the money wasn't enough to feed his children we wouldn't have so many delays and neverending progress bars. From an engineering point of view the team lacks of planning capabilities to say the least: the "it will be out when it will be out" is not much... professional.

I was just contesting the logic for which multiplying the money by X would multiply the frequency of updates by X. It never happens, and furthermore more money could mean more quality, that's something I appreciate.

It's on the wiki which you can get to from the link on the first post of this thread. Tech update work started April 2021, after the main story was finished. First pre-tech update was released July 2021.

Debbie's storyline is most likely completed with the finishing of the main story in 2021. Every love interest will have pregnancy content, eventually. Every love interest will have their artwork brought up to date eventually. Also, for any new content, Debbie will probably need to win a patreon poll (which she hasn't done in 5 years).

Well, she's supposed to be the bitchy, money loving older sister. At least this is something different once, when 99% of the others olders sisters in such games are pretty much written in excatly the same way.

And it's not like MC has to pay to have sex with her later on. Quite on the contrary, he can actually make money by doing so and she even visits him at night by herself.

Debbie hasn't been winning polls because her options are billed as smaller updates that would modernize her art, introduce pregnancy, and otherwise make minor story changes. You can see the polls and their results

I do agree with you that she's probably not getting any substantially new content, though. I wouldn't be surprised if he's cutting the Gordian knot by rolling her small art/pregnancy/story changes into the tech update, and saving any additional changes for the endgame.

I'm sorry, but that's really not on point. Once we are talking about investments, we are talking about concrete business plans, quarterly/yearly goals and actual accountability. You promise something specific and get money to get it done in return.

This whole project was never set out to be like that. The game has always been free and in return DC gets to do what he wants. If anything DC's patreon thing is much closer to some kind of tip jar/donation, where you give money because you like what he does.
That's honestly how people should see all of these games. Having some kind of investor's attitude while giving some bucks to a porn game on patreon is pretty mad, honestly.

There's isn't some kind of huge drop, though. It's a slow and pretty steady decline since the beginning of last year because he's not releasing any major updates. As such the gains from these updates are missing, as they have always been what's driving his numbers. Then again, it's somewhat likely that the trend is going to change once there'll be story updates again.

Well, we had the 0.17 poll, where it was just Jenny and Diane and the loser would get the 0.18. So there was basically no choice at all. Similarly we had very small polls, like the one for 0.22, where it was just Annie or Judith.

I mean, if DC really wants something, he'll just do it, no matter what the polls say. There were quite a few polls which are being ignored (succubus monster girl, linear stories) or have been repeated (tech update) and there's of course always the chance to just add a secret update or so.

Edit: Given that Mia will "soon" be the last school girl to not have a fully finished story, I'd indeed expect DC to push her update at some point in some way, so he could move on to the dating system. Maybe we'll indeed just get a very small poll between let's say Mia and Debbie or so.

I think the problem with Debbie is simply, that she got lots of content during the first 18 months. Which means there's ton of stuff to be reworked, which also means, that her update will feel just as bad as Diane's back then. It'll take 5 months or more and at the end many people won't really feel like they've seen that much new content compared to what she had before.

To me that's the main reason why DC doesn't seem that motivated to work on her update and why many people aren't voting for her, either. It's a bit like with Mia's case among the school girls. Back in the days before she got her update, she was among the most popular ones, indeed the most popular one, given that she was the one winning the poll. But now that she's got some "pretty bad" content, way fewer people like her.

I disagree with the sentiment that Debbie is unpopular. She wouldn't have taken err 4th place amongst all the women voted for in the first tech update lewd scene vote. No worries if you have a bias. She did lose votes but that was after the extremely unpopular remakes of Diane and Jenny. Jenny's was fantastic and Diane's was lacking for sure. Also, as pointed out, she no longer has a full storyline left to tell. Mia was the most popular school girl and her update caused her star to fall.

One man's trash I suppose... I think Debbie is the hottest and best character in the game. I love her personality and the new artwork. I also think the scene with her and the MC in her bed at night is the hottest in the game. The art sorely needs updating. Also the breast play and grinding.
