People are still Blue Balling themselves over the release.I'm so glad I'm not a regular poster in this thread anymore. I see we're still discussing the finances of SU here.
Nope, not being blue balled by this update. There are plenty of other games that keep my balls from being blue. Just trying to point out obvious greed to hopefully wake some people up. Probably a futile attempt, but still worth a shot.People are still Blue Balling themselves over the release.
I just grab the popcorn and watch their heads get as big as mine.
5 months + 2 days is not 6 months. Not $250 k update. Its a $300 k update. Its been 6 months since the last update got out. The last one released at 23rd of November 2018 so basically just that. 6 months for this. Honestly if this turns out to be shit people are gonna leave.
Also yeah when DC said that Eve will be his biggest, well like yeah bruv as it if you havent taken a seriously long time on this one already. I expect this one to be not that good really just like the Aunts because hes just updating a past character.
I don't think he *needs* to make any compromises if he doesn't want to. He had clear goals for up to $30k (in terms of what resources he would add) and nothing after that. He hit $30k, got those promised resources, and kept on going. He obviously has some kind of vision that he wants to adhere to, and it seems that no amount of extra money is making him change his mind on adding new people unless they are a great match. And he's been working at the same speed for well over a year now, so I don't understand why the same people keep making the same complaints and "liking" any negative comments like it's going to change anything.I think the problem is less how much DC is making and more that he seems to feel obligated to deliver a game that meets the expectations generated by such largess. Updates are getting larger and more varied, to the point where they could almost qualify as standalone VNs in their own right, but his team isn't built to produce them on the timescale that most people would expect a Patreon-supported adult game to meet.
If he wants to keep up this level of production that's fine, but he's going to have to compromise at some point and hire another artist even if they can't match his style perfectly. Heck, with all of the art revamps we're already getting contrasting styles in the game (see the last update, which had both old and new Jenny depending on the cutscene) and nobody seems to mind too much. It'd help with his same-face problem, too.
What makes him lazy? He's been working the same speed for ages ...People need to punish this laziness, not to support.Stop defending the devs like DC , they are making a lot money you guys just fapping. So they have a job to do and they need to do fast.
i'm literally seeing good reasons being listed by both sides, but still dont see anyone learning to use both sides to create a real constructive critic without triggering someone on the other side...its like unending circle of shitslinging....i feel like i'm back in the teachers update...which bring me back some disturbing flashbacks in the frustation sector,so,there are people who care enough for Jenny update to make something like this, better hold your horses becuz Eve's update will probably reach a new height....5 months + 2 days is not 6 months.

well, one thing is doing the shit with placeholders, the other is make the code show everything properly once its finally on its place....in theory,it should work just perfectly, but shit like this happens all the time in coding...oh the nightmare it was on the university....I love how the number of bugfix issues has skyrocketed. It's almost like none of the programming really started until a few weeks back, in this 5 month cycle.
I get that nothing can be "really" done till the pics are done, but...... unless of course they've over complicated her story with other characters, and it's breaking other stories..... won't know till we play I suppose.
... This is a pirate site. We have no control over DC's means of production. All we can do is tell people over and over that no matter what you complain about, the best thing is to play another game and stop blue balling yourself with this one...Alright, let me break this down. This post is about the game and its production.
One side is filled with people not taking into account that this game is DC's livelihood. So, current patrons being unhappy (which a lot of people are also unhappy on the patreon page) can directly affect his life. People vocalizing what they're unhappy about should be important to him. Whether you like or dislike people bitching about it, is of actual no concern. This is how business works. Everyone has a right to be pissed about the way things are done and he has a right to not care, but that will probably negatively affect his income. Something that many of you aren't taking into account. "If you don't it like it, then don't play it or pay for it." I'm guessing you're not successful businessmen. For example, look at Akabur, he used to be pulling in over $10k, but he's so horrendously slow with updates that many of the patrons have left. Fortunately, he says he doesn't really care about the money, so that's actually a plus.
No, if you vocalize too much on THIS site, the mods get pissy and just threadban you. And after 1400+ pages, we've seen the cycle of Blue Ball Syndrome on this and other games. This isn't new. It just means you haven't realized that we can't do anything about the means of production. You saying that DC owes them nothing is just a straight fallacy. DC owes his home to them, (I'm assuming this since he said that this would be full time after $6k) his food for his child, his food for his wife, the ability to stay home with them at all times. Even the people who don't support his patreon help with this because the more people who vocalize about it, (good or bad) the more people will check it out. Then those people may become fans and decide to support him financially. The people who actually just have no real criticism are still helping the game at its current state. So, I say, let the bitching continue.
I don't care either way. I have two or three games I'm focused on. Some like to pay for access and some don't. Ain't dropped a dime on the game since it came out. But I fapped to every character including Roxxy and probably even more to Eve when she drops. I've seen some games succeed and fail based on the transparency it gives. And DC has that transparency in his livestreams among other things. To each their own...I think he should be more open about what is going on with the inner workings of the project. (and not put that information behind a $5 paywall) Not necessarily spoiler stuff. It can be "I finished up art on this person and now am working on art for a scene." When the only information you hear about the project is a mediocre bar graph that is rarely updated, that easily becomes a point of contention. Most people bitching are talking about how long it takes to update. Personally, it's a little annoying, but until you see how much content is released I think the bitching about that specific thing should be kept to a minimum. The Roxxy update was great, in my opinion. Lots of new story and scenes and since you only have one artist on the project, I really think it was a reasonable amount of time. The Diane update was a little disappointing, but hey, you can't win them all.
Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you that the mods here can get lazy and stop it if it becomes frequent enough...I don't like that it takes 5-6 months for an update to happen, but I also am holding off my real feelings towards .18 and its production time until it's released. Until then, I'll just keep shitposting about my minor annoyance over a porn game.
I'm sure you know about spaghetti code the same as I do. We'll just have to see how this turns out.The one thing I actually am truly unhappy about (since two updates ago) how long it takes to assemble the images into an animation. But, then again, I don't know what process they go through to do it, but it seems incredibly inefficient.
Either or, DC does great work, makes great art, and has a good thing going for him. If we keep him happy, I think he'll keep making games for years. I just hope he doesn't get greedy, like I've seen so many patreons fall into. *Cough* Breeding Season *cough*
You do realise that DC actually streams on Picarto everyday (except during week end) and that you can see what he's working on and ask him all kind of questions ? Plus, sure DC got his home, the food for his children etc... with the Patreon money but as far as I know those are donations, and he respected the goals he has set so far. He doesn't ask people to give so he'll make the game, this is more a "plus" (a huuuge plus really).Alright, let me break this down. This post is about the game and its production.

I agree that he's been working at the same speed and it's admirable he's managed to keep from burning out like so many others on this board. My issue is that every update keeps adding more and more things, so working at the same pace and not bringing on anyone new means that inevitably the update pace is going to slow further and further. Announcing that the next update will be the biggest yet immediately after taking the longest time yet to release the current update (before it's even released, to really put salt in the wound) is going to put a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths and the complaints and criticism will only get louder. It's obvious that he's frustrated with the delays as much as the rest of us are, so I'm having a hard time understanding why he's preemptively setting up months of bitching rather than delivering a solid Eve update without the added fluff.I don't think he *needs* to make any compromises if he doesn't want to. the misteries of life...i once questioned myself the same question when the DM presented us with a Tarrasque and our Barbarian just attacked him like it was a "simple" dragon....but to each their own as they say...I agree that he's been working at the same speed and it's admirable he's managed to keep from burning out like so many others on this board. I'm willing to bet most of the issues are tied to the new DEX system. The pragency feature was a major factor in the Diane update being delayed. If the Eve update has an introduction of a new feature, this shit is going to happen again.I love how the number of bugfix issues has skyrocketed.
I think it's a carry-over from when DC started making this game just to learn how to code for Ren'py.Why does this game even have minigames?
Does anyone actually want more minigames? Why the fuck is so much time wasted on something nobody wants?
It's an excuse for gameplay. Why does this game even have minigames?
