By now there's a on their wiki which shows all the dates. Else I'd agree that they are probably aiming for Halloween, so they can introduce a bit of Halloween content as well.
This I feel is really interesting to take a look over.

You could see how the release dates lenghtened once the scope of each update increased.
Early on you have rapid-fire updates that add very little in terms of actual additions, only the basic things like characters which (while detailed) did not go after the layered body system that is now more commonly used but were instead full drawings and had very little in terms of interaction. Systems were put into place to track stats like money, your inventory - that kind of stuff.
Once this was in place he expanded upon that and worked more scenes and dialogues into it, still just giving small additions to dialogue and story parts or just introducing more characters before changing what and how to update: rather than doing tidbits here and there he was instead working on whole chunks in one big update respectively while also amping up the quality overall. This being either a characters revamp, like with Roxxy or revamps to locations like the School.

The bigger the area and/or characters scope, the longer the updates became because this is not just a linear path, but rather a whole interconnected web with locations and their respective characters in mind. Since it appears he wishes to put out entire character progressions/Location specific events playing out the updates turn out longer.
Just take a look at the amount of things done in the changelog for each respective update past v.0.14.5 - those changelogs become massive compared to the older ones: so big they even had to be broken down into their categories.

So, one can totally just go assume that the update cycle did get longer, because heck, they did BUT people need to also remember that the bigger updates still put in large amounts of additions that are befitting for the time invested for said update - some noticable on the forefront, some not so much.
While I personally enjoy having a nice big chunk to play in one sitting, this is now actually starting to grow too massive for my liking.

Yeah, sadly even the current updates are still somewhat "bloated" by reworks (like putting different characters on the rig system) and I guess that's going to continue for quite some time until all of those are done. DC said yesterday(?) that he'll try to implement those whenever possible so he can avoid "rig system updates" without new story content.

All in all DC probably simply learned from the experience he made with Erik's and Mia's updates which where basically a compromise. Unlike those before they provided a decent chunk of story within a reasonable timeframe but still felt very much incomplete, so people still complained a lot.

I personally quite like those really long schedules by now, since it keeps the game somewhat fresh. So much time passes that one actually enjoys to return ...

I could almost agree with you, except that last sentence. I like the new large updates which add much content in one chunk. Diane was an exception but hopefully a single one.

And last but not least, it helps modding the game if you do not have to update your mod to the new release every two weeks.

Also, as I posted recently, since several releases the gap between updates has nearly been constant: four months to the next full release, followed by a smaller one one month after:

0.19.0: 55% complete as of August 11th 2019-> 2 months for half the way
0.18.5: June 4th 2019 (Jenny 2) -> 1 month
0.18.0: May 2nd 2019 (Jenny) -> 4.5 months
0.17.5: Dec 16th 2018 (Daisy) -> 1- month
0.17.0: Nov 23rd 2018 (Diane) -> 4 months
0.16.0: July 25th 2018 (Roxxy) -> 3+ months
0.15.1: April 15th 2018 (teachers) -> 4 months
0.14.5: December 19th 2017 (Debbie) -> 1.5 months
0.14.3: November 1st 2017 (Aqua) -> 0.5 months
0.14: October 13th 2017 (Mia) -> 2- months
0.13: August 21st 2017 (Erik)

Yes, it seems it takes time to ensure a game has quality updates.
He gains supporters with each update, and loses many during the months that he doesnt release.
Still, he does not sacrifice quality for the sake of a speedy update.

His supporters have the ability to stop supporting anytime. And they don't.

Let's keep this thread on topic.
How exactly is it NOT on topic, to point out an argument that's been made in this thread, about this game and its developer a billion times?! Personal argument was the reason for deletion of my comment, which is more than a little baffling, since I only ever referred to the comment and the fact that it seems a bit pointless to make the same argument constantly. Personal argument my ass ffs.
