After I went to pink to get the second toy with Jenny I got stuck in the shop the exit button just vanished.
Is there another way to exit?

Thanks for the reply man. Also I forgot to introduce my self. Hi I'm the new member I just joined this page today although I'm already a member from other forums in this site. I've been playing summer time saga since it's initial release and still ever since. The other games I play that is in this "genre" are The Visit, Something Unlimited and Taffy's Tales which you should definitely check out, they're pretty great and updates usually take 2 months to complete max.

I mentioned a while back that I was going to talk a bit more about what is going on behind the scenes, and this is the kick off.
As you already know, it has been a week since the official release of Summertime Saga 0.18, and following that, we have made two hotfix patches in order to fix some issues that were reported to us, fortunately though, only one of them was a pretty major one, and some issues have been reported to be fixed at a later date, as to not drag the release of the hotfix too long.

Save compatibility

That is a topic that I have not talked about in a quite long time, 4 months ago if I recall.
With jenny now on an FSM, things should go a lot smoother as far as retrocompatibility goes. I have recently pushed some major changes to the codebase in an effort to address this issue, obviously, there is still plenty of stuff to do in order to achieve this, but progress is still progress. So, what are those changes, you might (rightfully) ask?
The changes I made pushed the Location instanciation to the init time, rather than to play time, meaning that everytime you run the game, new location objects will be created, thus eliminating the need to save those in the save files, thus, theoretically, any further change to Locations won't break save compatibility. Granted, that is not much, since locations have not been touched in a while, but that is still a good improvement.
Ass a side benefit from that change, save files should now be less cluttered. Now, you might ask, how do we save a location's state in the game, are we going to have to reunlock every location again after loading a save file? Well, no! The state of each location is now stored outside of the Location object, specifically as part of the player object.
As for the FSMs, I am working on a similar improvement, storing only what is necessary in a separate object, which should work just fine, unless an FSM changes (in the source). I will however try to find a workaround to that. Deletions of states/triggers should not be a big problem to deal with, but addition will pose some serious design challenges.

Asset reworks

Starting in 0.18.5, we are going to get rid of some art assets of the game, in an effort to make the game translatable, as well as to lighten the workload (ever so slightly) on DC, and make the game's size smaller. So, in 0.18.5, Location unlock popups will be done in code, instead of having dedicated art assets, and items should follow through quite quickly.
As soon as renpy 7.2 is stable enough, and doesn't cause issues with android builds, we will move to that new version of the engine, which will provide a new image manipulator object : im.Blur(). This will allow use to create blurred assets dynamically, instead of having dedicated assets, all in an effort to once again lighten the workload on DC, and making the game smaller. We take pride in having an optimized game, given that so many developpers out there don't take the time to address these issues.

Concerning Jenny's update

I know a lot of you guys felt dissapointed in 0.18, but be assured that it was a necessary step, and along with a brand new story, it brought modding capabilities into summertime saga, as well as birth control pills for anyone not interested in pregnancy content.
Additionnally, 0.18 requires two playthroughs to be "completed". Indeed, jenny has two paths the player can take, a more dominant path, and a more submissive one. Most of the changes are just dialogue changes, but I found that it adds an extra layer of flavor to the character.
I've also seen quite a few people complaining that the update took 6 months to make, which is not true at all. Once 0.17 was released, we immediately started to work on 0.17.5, which introduced Daisy. It released at around christmas of last year, and we took the following couple of weeks off for the holidays. Developpment for 0.18 started January 2nd, and was released May 2nd, so exactly 4 months later, which is not unlike our other updates. You can't rush art.

Exactly right. I personally fall into the latter camp lol. I wouldn't want to see pregnancy removed though, just expanded in terms of story consequence. I think the main problem with it currently is the lack of consequence. It's just there and then it isn't with no tangible effect on the player aside from not allowing the MC to screw the woman for the duration. Which is likely made this way due to the way this game is developed.

Precisely this. I get that pregnancy is a kink for some people, but it's a really difficult thing to put in a game like this because you either show the consequences of it which means creating more content or you don't, and DC seems to have gone with the latter which actually turns out to be the worst option.

The fact that your kids just get sent off to daycare and are then forgotten about as you proceed to have more babies with both different women and the same women just takes this game to an even greater level of crazy. Personally, I would have preferred if only a select few women got pregnant and that these had very specific consequences that would be explored. For example, getting Jenny pregnant would expose your relationship with her causing some drama between the her, the MC, and their Mom. As this is not something she would have wanted, she could wrestle with keeping the baby and getting an abortion, then if she has the baby she wrestles with keeping it or putting it up for adoption. If in either scenario she keeps the baby, then the MC doesn't get to have sex with her anymore because she won't let him after getting her pregnant, but if she doesn't keep the baby, then her and the MC will have sex again but she'll be on birth control and he'll always have to wear a condom.

If the game had these sorts of storylines post-pregnancy then at least there would be some sort of consequences for the MC constantly nutting inside all these women instead of just tossing the kids into daycare and forgetting they exist. Other characters with consequential pregnancies could be Debbie, Diane, Mia, Ronda, Roxxy, and Crystal, and every other woman is either on the pill or can't have kids.

I think that - even though the animations are smoother now - the older Jenny's scenes (handcuff camshow sex, showers and dildos) are FAR SEXIER than their remakes.

Kinda have to agree on this one. The new super bitchy Jenny just isn't as good as the old one, so that's another rewritten character that DC has messed up.

To be fair, this game's been doing a lot recently to rewrite large parts of its story so being able to start the game where you left off last time probably isn't ideal when the story arc you finished in a previous version no longer exists and the new scenes depend on earlier events that you've already completed. Therefore, it makes sense to have to play through the whole game to access these new scenes as it not like most games where new updates simple add events after the ones you've already played through.

This is indeed very nice. It's only a small step but it increases my hopes that they'll stick to this approach and keep the choices we've already got for Erik and Mia.

Okay. So I got Jenny Pregnant and no new scenes are happening... ummm what am I missing? She hasn't had me buy hardly any toys - scenes in the game before are gone and she is just a pissed preggers girl now.. what am I missing here?

I guess nobody really knows right now. DC said a few times that he likes those choices but in recent times he mentioned that they may remove them because they are unpopular among players. Jenny's story is kind of a compromise and one won't miss any scenes etc. - unlike in Erik's or Mia's case. Since both their updates won't happen anytime soon there's certainly room for DC to change his opinion again.
