Given that he's one of the top creators on Patreon for half a decade and given that he creates on one of the most known NSFW games on the whole planet, it's actually astonishing how little he monetizes the whole project - at least compared to other people in this streamer-/socialmedia-/influencer-sphere and especially compared to other games in this mobile market.

To me these are two sides of the same coin, yes, he's slow developing his game, but at the same he's very laid back when it comes to taking money from people. Sure, he still makes a lot, but it's not like people actually have to pay if they don't want to.

If Kompas was a normal company, I'm sure the game would be 100% mobile by now and would have some kind of payment/coin system, etc. added, so they could rip off people like they do with basically every other mobile game.

So really just the usual. I don't think there has been an ICSTOR game that was really finished/fleshed out. It always felt like he got tired of one project somewhere in the middle and just started the next one (which then still ended up being basically the same, as the one he "abandoned" before...).

I'm not surprised that he'd burn out at some point.

There will finally be some content from Judith.

I wouldn't wait for anything substancial until she actually gets her update. For now it's just a very basic location and one cutscene.

Erm, it's about as monetised as porno games can pretty much get. What else could he do to monetise it further? Microtransactions? He's getting paid monthly (quite well too) to work on a porn game. Most other porno makers only get paid after they produced something -- including game makers who prior to Patreon pretty much only got paid after they released their complete game which was often on shady websites unless you were Japanese and had access to dlsite or something.

Like I struggle to think how a porno can make any more than this. You ain't getting adspace on this kinda shit. The only creators I'd reckon that'd make more are people with cults of personality like BelleDelphine.

Heck, I'm willing to bet even most big-shot porn actresses get less moolah than DC and they have to live with the fact that they functionally ruin their personal lives in the process.

There's no advertisement (neither does he advertise nor does he accept advertisers), no merch, he doesn't commercialize his streams, he doesn't release updates as much as he should to gain attention (sadly), he doesn't sell the game on steam, he doesn't really charge people for early access - he indeed doesn't make people pay for the game at all.

Microtransaction would surely be predatory, but as said, I'm sure many actual companies/devs would try to add premium content into the game, if they had such a huge audience, that's obviously willing to pay.

One can only imagine how much money DC would make if he'd simply release something somewhat substancial every 2 to 3 months, create a steam version and do a few of the other things mentioned above.

I think the comparison between NSFW games and actual porn doesn't really fit that well. There are millions of women who produce porn and - let's face it - most of them are totally interchangeable and most people who watch porn don't care at all. The number of people who'll stick to one company/model for years is likely very, very small.

When it comes to casusal 2D NSFW games, there's really not that much on the market and even less that's made for mobiles. Yes, you can get japanese VNs (and some RPG-maker-games), but after you've played a few, they'll mostly feel the same and as such few are willing to pay.

I think I’ll take him and his crew earning a solid 60k over something like EA earning billions with lootboxes. At least you can see what exactly you are getting for your money, since he's upfront about that.

Has the story finally reached its conclusion, or are we embarking on what seems to be an endless journey? The anticipation was part of the initial charm, but it's becoming a challenge to maintain the enthusiasm.

The main storyline was concluded in October 2020 - finding out what happened to the MC's father. There is still the storylines for getting a date for the big dance and earning enough $$$ for college.

But yes, the developer has stated several times over the past six years or longer that this game is pretty much "open ended." As long as there are fans wanting more content, as long as the development teams has ideas, and as long as they are enjoying what they are doing - even should the three storylines get completed - there could still be more content released over time.

Patreon doesn't allow these games, either and that's not the official setting anyway. If the game is viable on patreon, it's theoretically workable on Steam, too. Being a DIK and others have proven that. And even if that's the case, it would take DC a few days at best to change the setting to a proper 100% university, if he'd really wanted to release the game on Steam.

Charging for EA is about the only thing he still could do.

Taffy Tales is a case of following the leader due to Summertime Saga's success. That's honestly not a rarity, a lot of games on this websites copy certain aspects. Like how you can’t throw a stone without hitting a game with incest on here. There's very few games that you can say are truly unique in premise and execution, too.

How do you defeat the Russian gangsters and unseat mayor Rump and take over the whole town? become a milk tycoon and use the Pizza store owners Italian mob connections to bring their mafia into the town to protect the milk business and several other business in exchange for a % of the revenue. You could save and take control of every business in the entire town from the stores in the mall to the tattoo parlor and the pizza shop. Then you unlock the achievement "Breastmilk Tycoon"
