lol. lmao even.
I have a bridge to sell you
I am not trying to convince you, you can think whatever you want... but he's been saying it so for the entire course of the development - over 9 years. I'm not some kid who just fell off the turnip truck, either. Unless you can show different --- take the man at his word. From May 2017 article, as an example:
LewdGamer: What kind of background do you have with hentai/erotic games?
DarkCookie: I really don’t have any. I’ve
worked in the video game industry as a concept artist mostly, and none of it really included adult content. This project was the first time I touched any sort of sexual themed content. The project was also not meant to be anything overly sexual to begin with. It was originally just a test project to learn some Python scripting with the Renpy engine. It got popular and people obviously wanted H-content, so I made it fit with the story.
LewdGamer: Did you even play erotic games before you started
Summertime Saga?
DarkCookie: Not too many, no.
5605? Is there something to these build numberings? is this like NLT media where it stands for 56% done?
It's the number of builds that have been created while they have been working on the tech update. They haven't released every build... But like when they find a bug and fix it, they run a build to see if the fix works. If not, they go back in and try again, run a new build (build=build+1).
Yes, they have ran 5,605 builds in the last 46 months (about 4 per day, on average).
5xxx part is more likely that they're on the 5th proper build since the remake. The x605 part is likely the fact that they have more than 600 builds on this development cycle.
There would be a period separating the first number from the final 3, if that were the case --- they know proper software versioning.
