Unpopular opinion :

- the main game is finished since years with the end of the main story and consists in a solid 9/10 porn game with a unique art style, sex scenes well balanced between teasing and lewdness, good writing and a lot of humor.

- Tech Update is just the remaster that no one asked, released 15 years later... but instead of being announced 15 years later, it was announced right after the end of the game development, which a marketing $uicide.

- Rhonda+Annie+Judith stories are just extra free DLC, exclusive to the remaster, but they are, and will be totally avoidable to enjoy the actual game.



People here are mad about a guy that created one of the best game on this platform, just because he takes time to enjoy the result of his work. A lot of people here seem to forget that between 2016 and 2021, he consistently updated his game with fresh quality content. 5 years working on a porn game, when it was first a solo hobbie, that became his full time job, just for you to fap.

DC never forced anyone to give him money, his game is technically free for everyone, and ppl are still complaining about how slow it is. And to be fair, if there are still ppl who subscribe his Patreon for nothing new in years, then maybe their money is in better hands with DC, because he's clearly a smart man who has understood how to win decent amount of money as an artist without forcing anyone, without promoting his game, without being rude to anyone, and without burning out.


That being said, I'm frustrated like a lot of ppl here because there is no quicker progress on this tech update. And I can understand the disappointment because it was supposed to be 6 months 1year max, and we're almost 5 years for half an update. But on the other hand I never gave him a single penny despite having played this game for 30-40hrs overall. So where my legitimacy to blame him ?

I'm not especially defending him. I'm just saying that outside the jokes on the slowness of this update, people should not forget that the game is already finished, that there is no reason to get mad about him or the game on the enhanced version he promised so far, because it honestly doesn't interfere with the original release, and again : the game is free.

There is a proverb in my country, saying "don't look a gift horse in the mouth". If you're not giving DC a single cent since 2016, and if you're not one of the 33,153 patreons, then why are you complaining exactly ?

Couldn't have said better myself.
Either stick with older version for now or just be patient.

Game was never finished. The main story has always had 2 parts: mafia and prom. Mafia was done. Prom wasn't. There were also a cast of "main girls" that were planned, being a harem and all.

Rhonda+Annie+Judith are all "main girls" and are also part of the prom storyline. They're not, nor ever were "DLC". Far from it actually.

If all these characters weren't in the game or if they were done with their stories but the prom story wasn't done then maybe you could say it's a complete package? But that's not the case here.

20.16 is good but it's a work in progress that got abandoned. You're bending the frame around an unfinished painting to make it look finished.

You are 100% correct. I almost forgot about the prom by this point. So yeah, unlike what the guy you quoted said, the game was never actually finished. It's a shame. Should of finished this one and used new tech and such for a new game. What a long waste of talent.

1) is completed near the end of completing:
2) which is completed.
3) is not completed and is a major reason for the tech update because the coding was barely holding on as it was and...

Officially, Summertime Saga has no incest content. It was removed in 2018 with v0.15.0 so that Dark Cookie could remain on Patreon.
Also, Anon's children (whether as minors or adults) will not have lewd content. Anon could have 1, 100, 1000, etc children with the NPCs in the story - but after they are born and initial introductory content, they simply will be referenced in baby counts on the in-game NPC bios and shuttled off to the nursery never to be seen again.
