Honestly, yes.
All it would take is looking at the original code and rewriting it to flow better.
The issue with that is that then there would be no money coming in because the content would be finished and this train may have dried up but DC will still take what little drops are left.

If Debbie does get finished by early October then how long before it actually catches up to the original game based on how many characters there were in the original and how much content was in the original?

Until then, enjoy v0.20.16 while playing what new scenes get added to v21.0.0 along the way.

No and there likely never will be because Apple doesn't want 3rd party apps. Only Apple Store apps.
I honestly believe the dev would make much more money if he releases the finished game on steam and starts working on a DLC or sequel. It will be on the top charts for years considering the hype it has and mainstream media coverage.
If you look at their roadmap it seems like the game wont be finished for another decade. I think the tech upgrade is making a 5% progress per year (its at 86% right now). Then its Rhonda, Judith, and Annie while also slowly weaving the original content back in. But he is also trying to remake everything while also updating the original content, and updating the engine. Basically is a project management nightmare and even if he was running a AAA studio it will still take many years for it to be complete.
Like the other poster said, just play the pre-tech version (which has a finished story but some unfinished side content), then check back in for the techupgrade every few years and just give it an evening to explore the new content. At least the game is actually free.

Maybe, but that would be hard work.
He should literally be multimillionaire by now unless he blew all his money on dumb things
He never has to work again.
In such a scenario I could see him retiring entirely.
But instead he works at a VERY chill rate for an absurdly high income.
That he might be able to make slightly more if he worked himself to the bone is irrelevant. why would he do such a thing?
