I decided to check out this update after skipping the last two. I've already stated my grievances with the game and the dev previously, so I'm going to focus solely on what's here rather than repeat myself.
So far, I think the changes to Debbie's story is an improvement compared to the original. It's basically the original story line but the relationship is different and the flow is a bit better. Like, the scene at Cupid where Debbie tries on the dress and invites MC into the dressing room before the two of them kiss reads better than MC just barging in unannounced. I know some people didn't like that the car handjob scene was replaced with another kissing scene, but I'm guessing that's there to build up to more car scenes in the future. I'm also really glad they changed the layout of that little room that separates the living room, the garage, and the lobby. It's more intuitive in the way it's set up now than it was before. Dev time aside, so far, so good.
That said, there are some things that I didn't like. People have already said that they didn't think the clown nightmare was sexy, and while I agree, that's not my issue with it since the Mrs. Smith dream fits into that category as well IMO. For one, the scene's resolution is noticeably worse when played at full screen than the rest of the game. Also, I understand that DC may have wanted to try something different, but the scene being in 3D is not an improvement over it being in 2D like usual.
Adding to that, if you're gonna have a jump scare in a scene, why not add a little audio sting? Doesn't have to be anything too intense, just something to go with the fucked up clown Jenny that pops up. I know it's a porn game, but let the nightmare be a nightmare, man.
Did Jiang (car repair man) change accents? He went from saying shit like, "Ayo, wassup, baby girl?" to saying, "Hey dere, purty lady." What the fuck? It's not a big deal, but still.
The more I see of Jenny and Debbie's faces in different angles, the more convinced I am that DC doesn't have reference sheets for his characters. He doesn't go completely off model, but they don't always look right whenever he draws his characters in any position outside of their usual default 3/4 view. Also, this has nothing to do with the update, but I really don't like how DC draws hair. Shit looks like shiny Play-Doh.
That's all I got. Not sure if I'll play the next update since the Debbie rework won't be finished.
I also though it was funny that the nightmare blowjob was only two frames lol.
