Oh I'd definitely try to get as much mileage as possible out of patreon. Money doesn't grow on trees, so I'd be stupid not to.
It's why I scoff so much at all these wannabe moralizers on here. As if they wouldn't do it as well. I doubt anyone on here is willing to figuratively starve just to sit on a high horse.

Holy crap next year will be a full decade of development. 4 years and they're still remaking old code? Does it seriously take that long to code in this work? Like, other developers fully finish games in that time.

The 6th update is here!
As we mentioned previously, not all of the Tech Update content is available yet, but we are releasing new content every 2 months.
This cycle we have been focusing on upgrading Debbie's content, and we're now in a position to share with you the first 20 quests.
Following this release, we are now working on the remaining last part of her content which will include her last animated scenes and will be released in the next update (in 2 months).
In the meantime we hope that her story showcases the level of quality we intend to keep throughout the rest of her content.

bro they just make money by waiting it you are star working you know this job need only more 3 or 4day to make it complete and all the time need to make new update real work is faster but they need earn money.
note the more money they earn they will not complete the game forever. and ( it true anyway) and i pass age 34 this year work as IT software. i aslo can't wait like when i was young like 8 to 10 years ago.

Please don't confuse people by copying over an update post that is over 3 weeks old.
For anyone who may ask "where update?"...
Last update was the end of March.
Next update is scheduled for the end of May.
They don't have plans on completing Summertime Saga anytime in the near future. Developer would like to add another 100-200 characters to the story. It's going to be many years.
Also, 34 and you can't wait like you did when you were in your 20s? I got some bad news to tell you... The older you get, the more you gotta wait for things in life. Except death. That is coming sooner than you might expect.

Damn! DC's great-great-grandkids are going to be developing this game before it gets completed. I guess if DC really wanted a family business that'll last for generations, he got one.

Well, there's already about 100 characters in the story... And during the almost 9 years that DC has been on Patreon, almost all of those 100 were added in the first 5 years (45 have at least 1 cookie jar scene in v0.20.16). So, it doesn't take as long as you think. But, yeah, don't expect anything marked "completed" any time soon.
