The start of this thread is Aug 25, 2016. So it's been a little under three years to be fair. I tried checking the oldest posts on the Patreon, but everything before the Mar 8, 2016 freeze is gone.

I have a copy of SS 1.0 on my machine and the oldest date file I could find was July of 2016, but I'm not sure if that means that's when it came out or not.

We're doing the best we can to make sure that saves from 0.18.2 will be compatible in 0.18.5. The thing is that the current way to restore progress is kinda hacky and doesn't scale well.
I've started to work on a new system to restore progress. It's pretty much ready, and has been implemented in a separate branch, but we're holding it off for now, and will release that system as part of the 0.19 update. Hopefully that should address most of the save incompatibility issues.
A few things to note though :

When that system take effects, previous saves with the other system won't be compatible with the new one

There will still be instances of save incompatibilities even after that. Summertime Saga has many moving parts, and even though we're doing the best we can, we can't guarantee that things will always work out. Though, that new system (coming in 0.19) should be a massive improvement.

- they will NEVER admit that the last 2 updates are utter GARBAGE;

- they will NEVER admit that every rework DC made on old stories and characters worsened the game A LOT;

- they will NEVER admit that the new Rhonda, the new Eve and the new gym teacher are dull and shallow;

- they will NEVER admit that the pregnancy "thing" is trash and totally ruined everything;

- they will NEVER admit that the storyline is pure crap right now;

- they will NEVER admit that the save incompatibility issue is totally unacceptable;

- most of all, they will NEVER admit that the game will never be finished.

So, let's leave them alone and let them worship their god. Peacefully.

P.S: the updates do suck; hope DC takes these criticisms and builds on it rather than building up excuses to counter it <3

We've seen her without pants on, we just haven't seen her without panties on. The scene where she and the principal dress up to be painted doesn't leave a whole lot to the imagination. If Annie has a dick, then she must have a hell of a plastic surgeon and an extremely small penis. Plus, making the cranky, unfriendly girl the trap is too obvious. Even DC isn't that unimaginative.

I recall a modder talking about how enabling roll-back in this game messes up variables and stuff. So I wouldn't go messing about with it, but rather keep a lot of saves
