All translations are fan made and I think the Portuguese one for v21.0.0-wip.5605 is the first... It's the first offered here, anyway.

Play the "before the tech update" if you want more content. Now, you're playing the remake so, no much content in it.

Edit: summertime saga was already popular even without any reworks. It's one of the most popular games out there. Meaning, the players like it for what it is. So this "fixing" is just stalling for time

More like the same content with some tiny new thigs here and there, but for more content, that will probably only happen in a couple years when the game is at the same place the first one was.... if he doesn't try to do a 4K remake or something like that at that stage.

The tech update was going to happen. It needed to happen because the coding (not RenPy - but the coding for Summertime Saga to run in RenPy) was frankensteined barely holding together. Like Scotty said in Star Trek "She can't take much more, Cap'n!"

The last choice for subscribers to vote on was which was to come first:
Rhonda update, or
Tech update

Had anyone actually figured it would take anywhere near this long, they probably would have voted for Rhonda.
Ether way, we'd be right where we are now. Just with a Rhonda update before it.

Regarding all of this... can we be sure the next updates will happen faster and smoother with DC so he can concentrate on the art/animation for upcoming contents?

No.
Also, "faster updates" was not a stated goal in the list.
Also, also, art/animation isn't what has been bottlenecking the development for the past 5 years.
Also, also, also, if you are a subscriber (which I am not) and you are doing so simply because you believe it will make updates faster, you should stop subscribing or at least come to terms with the fact that may never happen.
If you are not a subscriber (like me), then we should find other things to do with our time while we wait.

Also, right now they are updating every 2 months. You want it faster? No. What you want is more in less time... That won't happen ever.

We have relatively 'steady' updates now. Quality of updates being debatable, but so far they haven't broken the 2 month rule.

Well, you're playing a version with known bugs. So probably.

You're playing wip.5595, the latest is wip.5605. download that and try again.

Also, remember that Debbie's route isn't fully migrated in wip.5605.
