Considering how transparent DC is in terms of the development (progress bar, drawing streams with random questions answered, discord etc.) this would be such a harsh shift that I'm assuming this would quickly turn into a PR nightmare. Not only is this game well known, many know that the last bit is always the hardest.
By doing something like this, his fanbase would most likely be split. On the one hand, you'd have a good chunk of losses, since if you go all out to make the development as transparent as possible, people that are interested in the product will not take lightly to the shift of behaviour, others might not like the time it takes to progress (Oh let me tell you how programming in python is a bitch). On the other hand, the remaining supporters would become incredibly hostile towards outsider comments, as they did support DC and will keep supporting him for whatever reason that would be.

How about you try being less of an insensitive asshole regarding someone having a death in the family? Some families are close and have strong bonds. And most of the staff on the game already have jobs.
Think about this. Their family member died when they also have to deal with work, other family members as well as their own grief. Now, they have no time to grieve because they MUST work on a game that you cannot wait for. With your statement, you come across as very entitled with absolutely no empathy.
This is a porn game, not your life. Give the men and women who work on the game a chance to make it right before you make yourself sound even more cold-hearted.

For the record, that death in the family HAD been mentioned here, at least a few times, I know I have mentioned it at least once myself and I heard it third hand. This was very knowable if anyone had bothered to read before complaining, but no, that is far too much trouble, it's just too easy complain and bitch because it isn't ready when you want it to be. You are not the project leader, you don't set the deadlines, even if you are one of the investors.
Quality work takes time, and considering the estimation is 3-4 months, they are right on schedule despite the delays. If the thousands of other games are not enough for you, then I encourage you to make your own, not only will you get the game you want, but it will fill all the free time you have to complain about.

Even without the emotional toll that death in the family takes, which is absolutely draining, it probably never crossed your mind that there's a ton of organizing with the funeral and lawyering to do that all takes time. Now, add to that a regular day job and you won't have the time or the energy to cater to entitled a-holes like you make yourself seem with your unwarranted attack.
I suggest you take a step back and take a hard look into your priorities, if you're this bent out of shape by a tragedy taking it's toll on one of the devs making this game.
