The homepage was updated, the patreon page wasn't. So it's not like having one coder was meant to be permanent, I guess he just needed some time to find somebody that fits the team.

Edit: Next to that, do you have any imformation that DC fired panda? As far as I'm aware he left on his own terms because he didn't have the time anymore and is still testing the game?

All's I know is that I'm grateful the game is free on the other hand if a person pays a considerable amount you're more than entitled to criticize the game like the meh pregnancy update. Yeah she's pregnant but you don't have pregnant sex. I'm not into preggo sex but I'd bet people who have preggo fetish would want the pregnant ladies in action. The totally weak attempt at multiple choices althought the biggest problem I have with this game is the save compatability. Oh man imagine this thread when the gay sex comes in. Couldn't he have picked a better looking gay option? I mean that guy's not even okay looking. Hopefully the gay option is feminine and not that trainer guy.

Great game. I would love to see pregnant content with the teachers in a future update, as well as Mia and Roxxy. Also, I have a couple of friends who are gay and enjoy playing this game. Maybe add a twist where the player can decide to make the MC turn gay and hook up with Kevin. Its just a suggestion.

I don't think there's a twist pal. You could click eric's bed before and the kevin is on the "to do list" in the mc's locker. There's also the trap. I think that particular update will be like at least 3 years before it happens. Since people aren't particularly asking for it. I can't confirm if there's a poll regarding kevin or eric in that way. Although I bet that there's some gonna be gay stuff happening with the mafia dudes.

You have to take the "criticisms" of all with a grain of salt. Some people feel that they paid good money and the game isn't producing enough for the money invested.

Some people (like me) put more time into the game and have our criticisms of the game.

Then there's people that talk about every little detail of the game and tell you it's shit while they delete the game for the fourth time and come back every month to tell you the same thing.

It's just fascinating to see all those opinions mesh into something.

Eh, I don't know. To me the word mislead is pretty strong here. I believe he will implement save compatibility some time, I don't really know why he's got a milestone for it though since it should take priority.

It's about bad direction and management, as well poor resource control.
If DC was actually a good leader, he would have worked first on the vital features (add save file compatibility, progress with the dating system, finish main story characters/quests and areas) rather than add useless features (also buggy and poorly done) like pregnancy and minigames that should be done last or add areas and new characters that aren't going to have content for years.

Well, he is an amateur and to be fair most people aren't good leaders, nor do they know how to control resources or organize work, projects, who does what, enforce deadlines.. You know, the whole shebang.

On a related note, I find most of Summertime Saga's update contains quite a few bugs. Might be related to the release schedule and him not wanting to put it off any more than he has to considering, as I said, he doesn't update frequently.

But that's just my opinion.

It's going to have a different focus and will basically consist of 3 new sex scenes for Jenny, like certainly the bed scene and, in case we are lucky, maybe a little bit more story. Next to that there'll be some minor fixes and further code updates.

as far as i can see, new update brings new interaction with jenny post finish so maybe its a romancing option as there is a block called jenny gf experience, 3 new hscenes, bug fixes, and something to do with the daycare

The daycare portion probably indicates a future expansion with Annie's(?) mother, I guess we'll be putting our kids there next update. Doubt there'll be content with the mother though.

Am I the only one who has problems with parts of the game itself rather than with its development?

My biggest gripe is with the writing. The entire game has this lack of self awareness that detracts from the entire experience. The MC has no consistent character. He will fluctuate from a relatable everyman to a sniveling masochist to a sneering sadist to a hopeless romantic often within the same route and sometimes within the same scene. The route that most embodies this is the Mia/Helen route. The plot starts as an earnest coming of age romance story, with the MC helping his childhood friend navigate her personal problems. It's a charming story about the girl next door except for when it isn't because it's been interrupted by church themed BDSM scenes. It's like someone intercut Pump Up The Volume with scenes from Bible Black.

Even Roxxy's route, which most people seem to consider the best written, is full of things like this. Much like Mia's route, Roxxy's starts out like a teen comedy. It is ostensibly a fun story full of character growth where the MC wins the heart of the cheerleader, a la Revenge of the Nerds. However, this route is also full of tone shattering moments such as when he burglarises the house of the principle, or cheats on his newly minted lover with her mother while in the same room. However, the part that annoyed me the most was Dexter's fall from grace. One of the scenes meant to show how terrible Dexter is shows him groping one of the girls. We are supposed to hate Dexter for doing this, despite the fact that the MC gropes multiple characters, cums in his mother's panties, fucks his sister in her sleep, spies on his neighbours while they're getting dressed, and cheats with a nurse while at the hospital to check whether he's fertile enough to be able to impregnate his aunt. Even in Roxxy's route alone there are plenty of scenes like this, such as the aforementioned cheating with her mother.

My point is that the game has no consitent internal logic. While it must be admitted that it is a porn game and is thus a literal masturbation fantasy, the constant hypocrisy is still frustrating.

Also, Jenny's new face is repulsive. The way the corners of her mouth jackknife up could only be called a smile in the Glaswegian sense. Her new art is objectively worse.

It's been a while since I did that route but from what I remember it was rather sudden and on the nose. They did have character development for Mia's path but kind of just jumped into the BDSM with Helen with no real warning or building up to it.

Yea, it's my favorite route It definitely has its issues and they stick out like a sore thumb. It feels like we should have been given more/better alternatives as there's no way I'm buying the MC breaking into the principal's house. Among a few other moments in the storyline that made me go "Say what now?"

Yup.. This part is present in a lot of games though, one issue is with updating old storylines or code. But there are others such as, as you point out, the underwear things, molestation and voyeurism. The fact is made worse in Roxxy's storyline however as it is implied that she doesn't really like to share. She does relent, with her friends, as long as you're there with her. The storyline doesn't feel written to fit the MC, unless you only play that one single route. Which is unlikely to happen for a majority of players.

My point is that the game has no consistency in its internal logic. While it must be admitted that it is a porn game and is thus a literal masturbation fantasy, the constant hypocrisy is still frustrating.

Reminds me of a TV-show I'm watching... I agree completely though, a few moments here or there I can deal with, but as the game drags on we only get exposed to even more of these and it doesn't look likely to change.

I think the problem is that you're expecting a linear story with consistent characters dev, especially for the mc. however the different between SS and the typical visual novel is that there are choices to be made and the availability of choices because the MC suppose to be a reflection of the actual player themselves. So just because an option is available, it doesn't mean you as a player need to take it. and keep in mind, the finished game PROBABLY won't allow you to romance every character in the roster anyway because your relationship with one character might block off your chance with another. BUT like I said just because the option is there doesn't mean YOU, as the player, has to take it.

In Helen's/Mia it feels very.. Abrupt, very sudden that you're into BDSM and punishing Helen. There are probably other examples but I'm tired and it's been a while since I played through SS.

To be fair, some would call that life. Quite a few things happen abruptly and without real and realistic alternative. And let's be honest, people do stupid stuff in their teens. I'd say that's nothing one should be upset about and it really doesn't feel that far off.
