But why would they put that much work into what YOU want them to do with the game when they've got 50k worth of patreon supporters who haven't voted for that? Who are you to dictate the direction of the game? If you're a Patron, you should suggest that on the Patreon page. Otherwise, what possible motive could anyone possibly have for acquiescing to your demands on a pirate forum?

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that it's totally cool for us to sit around here and shoot the shit about what we'd like to see, but when you get all "pff, it's not that hard and you're making all this money so just do what I say" you're crossing the line. I like your idea, I really do, I just think we should maybe be a little more careful how we word things around here if we're not supporting the game monetarily.

Yes, it isn't hard because, that's what they've been doing all this time, coding and re-coding. And coding a couple of lines isn't hard because, they've done this before a ton. Again, like I said, I wasn't disputing the work load, no shit it would be a ton of work, but, the difficulty/hardness of coding it isn't an issue because, they've done it over and over again. Why are you here then? The purpose of this forum is to talk about the game and what would be beneficial into improving it among fans, supporter or not. Honestly though, If this happened, how mad would you really be? The game has a fuckton of content, it's excellent, and it's more feature complete than 99% of the games in the genre. And really, what's missing than anyone could legitimately complain about? The main story needs a conclusion but do any of us REALLY care about that? Seriously, I think DC could take his patreon bucks and go home right now and be pretty well justified in doing so.

You can see DC stream 10/12hours per weeks (You can see him draw a lot, but it's not the most productiv method), he works 3x this time every week, he managed the schedule with the devs, etc... . It's not precalculated 3D character or other.

The next update will be ready when it's ready. The content is great and actually their progress on the game is good.

You do realize this isn't some asset rip and all the art and assets have to be hand drawn, right?

Also, considering this guy's trying to create a point-and-click style game in an engine designed for visual novels, it's probably a pain to test everything and make sure each release works.

Point being, this shit takes time, and given the small amount of staff this guy probably has, if any, and the fact that the story is not "duh, sex scene, duh", this isn't exactly a game that's going to be updated as quickly as others.

Also the fact that you're whining about the amount of money he gets from Patreon when, given the fact that you're on this forum that pretty much is just a hub for pirating porn games, you probably haven't given them a cent.

Not to be on the side of the "DC is a greedy, indolent fuck stick who is scamming his patreon supporters", but oh my god... you can see him stream 10-12 hours per week? Wooow. 10-12 hours. Big fuuuuucking deal. Everyone who has a full time job works that in a day and half, some people work that in a single day. You also have no way of knowing if he actually works "3X" that amount of time, are you on the development team? DC puts out a worthwhile update on average twice a year and they're typically not more than 10-15 minutes long, for pretty much any professional studio he would have been fired years ago. And scheduling devs? Again, big fuuuuuucking deal. Plenty of people do that for a living and produce results at a much faster pace. Why? Because they're not shaking a can on a digital street corner with a cardboard sign that says "Will draw big tits for spare change" on it.

There are patreon projects out there pulling in far less than Summertime Saga and producing results at a much faster clip, in many cases as good or of a better quality. The fact of the matter is that DC and company produce content at a very slow pace and at times it genuinely seems like they're purposefully drawing out development to try and drain more money out of the supporters of the project.

Again, though, it's just a porn game and we shouldn't get our collective panties in a bunch over it, but the people who complain are definitely justified due to how poor communication is from the team and how slow development is on the game.

You know very well that those 10 to 15 minutes number is just wrong. Even if you don't read a single line of text and use a walkthrough you'll need more time than that and once you actually play the update each Roxxy, Jenny and Diane will haven taken you easily 1.5 hours plus.

Else I don't know why you'd write something like "shaking a can on a digital street corner". DC is certainly one of the devs who really doesn't ask for money, unlike for excample idiots like DarkSilver who even threatened is patreons in the past. Quite on the contrary is SS still a free game and even none patreons can get it very soon after release - there's not even patreon only content, etc. Those who think that DC is too slow or doesn't produce to their standards can just stop paying and that's it. They can still play the game and won't have any real disadvantage.

Last but not least, even though it has been repeated 100 times in this topic, it's a big difference wether you just crank out honey select or daz renders or actually draw stuff by hand. One can be done very fast and is scalable while the other can't and isn't.

You can get everyone pregnant that has pregnancy routes, you don't need to choose. Right now that's Jenny, Diane and Daisy. More coming later.

Something that incited Sara's desire for MC, making her go after him, maybe culminating in a succession of bets. I actually like the progression process, the only thing that would make it better is the reaction of npcs to your progress. Like how everyone viewed you as a wimpy loser before working out and getting that cash, after that they still view you as a wimpy loser. A little attention to details would make a ton of difference. For example, Roxxy sees you and says "Eww, don't talk to me loser" after you max out your attributes, get the fastest car, buy that house and get that bank roll. You approach her again and she says "Wow, you look different, good actually, umm don't take this as a compliment, you're still a loser. But, damn!" Something like that. To make all the work worth it. The same way, Diane reacts after you max out strength, lift your shirt up. You max out intelligence, the science teacher doesn't look at you like a retard any longer. I think it's doable on Darkcookie's part since there isn't any extra art to do, just extra text/sentences to work with.

OK guys, even though you managed to put your request in the least polite way possible (no insult intended), you have been heard. Some things were bothereing me as well, so I decided to give i a try and make a small mod

Just put the attached file MeaningfulStats.rpy into the game\scripts directory and see how your stats (strength, dexterity) have an effect on dialogs with Cedric, Kevin, Coach Bridget, Ronda, Master Somrak and Dexter. To uninstall, just remove the file (and the created MeaningfulStats.rpyc file as well).

However, even this little thing took some hours to make, and I only considered less important characters. Do not expect me to do the same for Roxxy, Jenny or other main characters, or to work on different poses. But you might consider that there are already many places in game where MC's stats have a noticable impact on dialog as well as story.

But I think that mod is an improvement, and it can easily be extended. If you find it useful, I might as well include it into the

You can make an arguement that the rest of the development team is too busy in the 4-6month turn around time with non-art related tasks to add flavor text, but then you cant claim the bottleneck is the art.

To be clear: I am not saying what the bottleneck is, i'm not on the dev team, so i would be talking out of my ass. I am more commenting on those that constantly claim the art is the bottleneck.

Now, as to your comment, presuming the art *is* the bottleneck, that means coding of new scenes is probably delayed in its start until enough assets are available to do anything relevant. The bottleneck on the backend of each production cycle is probably the coding part as they process all of the new scenes, sure.

So the time to go do text updates of existing scenes, add flavor text, etc would be at the beginning of each production cycle, when DC is the hold up.

Again, this is making large assumptions that there is a team working on this and not a one man show.
