I've seen a few Devs doing "alphas" and then doing the full release a couple or three weeks later. Another of the games you Mod for, University of Problems, has been doing the "regular" then the "extra" for a while now. Maybe Mr. Dots is starting down a similar track to get something out sooner.

I had just uploaded .03 last night, so I saw the size. Looked to see if they went from .jpeg or .webm files to .dat (I think it's .dat...), but it looks like that conversion was made some time ago.
