I haven't played the version shared in this thread specifically, but the one I got from the cat site did have checkpoints.

It's definitely not unplayable, I was breezing through it, and I'm not even particularly good at games like this. And there are checkpoints.
It IS unplayable ... junkie Controls paired with only 2 Lifes and very hard mechanics + monster spam ... its all but good ... the animations and the art is good the game is awefull ...
I have gotten to the end of the current version, as have others by the looks of things. It took some getting used to the controls, but I wouldn't call it unplayable. If you find things too hard, then just spam the spell with the Q key.

If you press Insert you can activate cheats. Press Page Up to replenish your HP. Though you'll need to be quick. You can also press End to change weapons.
If you want infinite HP, here's what you do: Press Insert to activate Cheat Mode. Press Page Up to raise your HP a few times. Now open Cheat Engine and scan for a "Double" value that is your HP. Change it by adding some more HP until you find the value, then lock it.

I got some weird glitch? My level is in the dark on the map anbd the level itself is blocked by yellow line, clues?
Not. That's the end of the build as far as I'm aware.

played this game was able to beat the current build after a few tries and even beat the second boss without getting my ass kicked once.
Found this game very playable but maybe that is because I am used to playing the game this was based off of which was ghouls and ghosts.

Cant pass the barrier with the yellow line, unless thats the end of the demo/current game version
Well, sry, there are checkpoints. I found them out after discovering Q button, wich summons op ligtning strike. And it killed all the challange, no fun. Playing with basik atacks is too hard, i wannna be the boshy lvl, not fun as well. Poor game design, thats all i can say.

This was quite a bit of fun to play through. Really lives up to its inspiration, and looking at how many people complained at the difficulty I can't imagine how they'd fare if they tried ghouls & ghosts. Probably give up on the first level. (Though, to be fair, I never beat the first level as a kid either.)

For those interested, I found a way to bypass the barrier. Press Insert, then Press Ctrl to be tp'd slightly upwards. If you spam Ctrl whilst jumping, you can easily jump over the barrier. (Slightly up, there are platforms to stand on and the level continues from there)
So far, as discoveries:
-Game crashes after losing to any enemy from here
-If you fall to the sides, or in some places, you will get black screen but still hear sounds (as expected, this is not intended for you to play after all)
-Mummy And Arachne girl have grab animation (on defeat, game will crash)
-The other two don't have grabs
-Nothing else here (the rest of the level is unfinished, it leads upwards to an elevator scene that won't end)
