I'm rather surprised that there are more like-minded Evil MC players here than I expected.
I would have expected the general to be the same Good Hearted Power of Friendship™ players since this looks like, in first glance, a superhero game.
When in fact it is about Superhumans, regardless of morality. Be it Good or Evil.
Now that Jake have been assimilated, I can't wait to Devour Deryl next.
Hello my fellow evil MC player.
I would like to point out that not all evil MCs must eat jake.
I play an affably evil MC, killed a whole bunch of people and am looking after number 1...
By affably evil MC I meant that my MC is selfish and is willing to harm others for personal gain. MC looks out for his own benefits.
But at the same time, affable means MC can have friends and lovers (because those are fulfilling and useful) and is calm, polite, and suave.
Being polite to someone I am planning to kill (klaus) is not "good", it is merely a function of having a calm personality and also trying to not alarm him overmuch before I strike (think like a snake)
I did not assimilate jake though:
1. it does not seem you actually get his powers from eating him.
2. your powers make for a good counter to his. Sure sure, he can mind control the govt. Big whoop. Muggles make for poor weapons. And the higher your level the worse off they are.
3. The game has altered dialog depending on how you interacted with him. Since my interactions with him were positive from the start, he did not come out as some great villain to me. Yea he mindfucked 2 friends... but ella forced his hand. And sure, he put Mia's life above mine later on when trying to fix things... but I am just not salty over it. Especially with the altered dialog.
4. He seems like he would be a very useful ally later on. And if you went the route of being his buddy from the start then he very clearly falls into this role.
5. I am just not that afraid of him.
That all being said. If I had not explored alternate timelines with the save and reload button I probably would have eaten him and then been immensely disappointed that I did not get his powers. Regretting the loss of a future ally for no gains.
However, games do not operate based on IRL logic but based on the logic of the author. As such save/reload is a must to map out and understand how the author views the world.
To be honest in many games I end up forced to play a simp, not because I think it would be an effective lifestyle choice. But because I know that the game will punish me for choosing the "evil" route, has no "practical selfish" route, and rewards the "good" (simp) route.
I am not a fan of doing so. But if you want to play a game you must adapt to the author's way of thinking. Your only option really is to stop playing entirely if it grates on you too much
Anyways... this is related to this game because there are very clear and tangible benefits in this game that you can seize via normally verbotten methods. Eating people's brains to steal their memories is very rewarding in this game.
