I just realised that the last few updates made me forget about a lot of my grudges. From Nico threatening to space the MC (and actually doing it as a bad end) to Charlie saving that dumbass Jared from being assassinated. Cole, Shane, those Moon twins, the two doctors (HERO and SIN), Dexter... whomever made us fall into the monster world.

Klaus at least had the decency to die.

No, because things are actually moving in a way they weren't before.

You see, while MC and friends remained on earth, everything had to be in a kind of stasis. The H.E.R.O. arc was stagnating by design. Reactive you might say.

Not just MC leaving, but his friends too moves the plot, mh, say, perpendicular to it's earlier progression.

People are growing rapidly here. In power, confidence, closeness and world view. It might just be me, but if we look at it from the lens of the beginning, the entire troupe has absorbed a lot of Alice' and Michael's toughness, while especially Michael softened up. They are all a little more 'fucked in the head' in a good way.

With everyone tight knit you've got the kind of set up you want for radical change at the end of the road. Am I'm all here for it.

Cole's fight is considered a win(even though you don't do it alone). Ella says something along the lines of { Cole should have won, good job beating him, your body will remember it}

So no, Memory is not necessarily bad at combat, nor is it necessarily bad at physical damage all the time. What I'm trying to say though, is that most of the time, Memory is not as good at physical damage as most other powers, and that Syla and her kin are an exception specifically because they can copy other powers, not the rule of Memory monsters.

Mc did some cool fights ( valaren , cole and monster deryl) which showed not only his strength but creativity and adaptability mid fight. But indra's sheer output of power was insane (even without his weapon(Vajra?)).
Having mom's special powers would be cool in the future but we need true power like mind breaking or copying to the point where we can use original user's power in full.

By the way what do you choose for Michael? emotion or power?

Have we been playing the same game? MC went on some really dangerous clean up missions. Hell, the outing with Niko was nothing but a show of competence.
Sure, MC had a bad match up within a 2v1 in the twins due to Deryl jobbing hard.
But that went right back into redemption with a bad match up with Cole, who also had a weapon and needed to evolve to not fucking die to MC. And even the freshly evolved Cole with a new shiny weapon, gets potentially threshed by Deryl and MC teaming up. If you've got the skill MC explicitly notes that, with both on no energy, he's winning on sheer skill advantage.

I don't know about you, but MC has been handling the bullshit zone quite well from where I stand.

Well, let's go down the list and see. I'll exclude fights against sub Level 3 opponents. Because then MC would have too many Ws and it wouldn't be fair to the discussion. That means I'll be excluding monsters below B Class too.

1. MC vs Rebis Deryl (B+ Class) = MC win
2. MC vs Gorgon (B+ Class) = Gorgon win
3. MC vs Asura (A Class, wounded) = MC win with Nico help
4. MC vs Banshee (B Class) = MC win
5. MC vs Silat (A Class) = Silat win, but it wasn't really a fight
6. MC vs Devana, Evander and Shen = Trio win
7. MC vs Valravn (Dream) = Valravn win
8. MC vs Cole (Level 3) = MC win
9. MC vs Spider Lady (B Class) = MC win
10. MC vs Danu (B+ or A Class?) = Draw, Danu win

I might be forgetting some but the tally should be:

Wins: 5 Loses: 4 Draws: 1

So adding whichever ones I missed, MC hasn't really took an L consistently enough for it to be an issue. Just like when he was Level 2, his win to lost ratio has been pretty balanced. MC is actually doing pretty good with how diverse B Class/Level 3 is with varying levels of power.

I think the problem is how WW writes MC during fights. It gives the impression that MC is losing. As in, he puts a lot of emphasize in the dialogue about how MC is struggling or overly explains why it's happening. The Cole fight being one of the main examples, even though MC wasn't struggling as hard as the dialogue made it out to be.

I think Michael sums up Mc's fighting style quite well.
Michael is a strategist and tries to plan most of his fights( Oscar ,lightning monster and Deryl Chimera ) but Mc and allice both rely on making things as we go and flexibility strategy.
if the strategy isn't explained at all ( we don't have any idea about Mc's head), then the fights would become boring and choosing stuff mid fight wouldn't make much sense

He kind of does, with the orb that Deryl gave him. He's just sparing in its use so far, probably because he can't reload it on his own. I'm hoping that once the MC hits level 4 and can more easily make matter that can separate from his body, he'll use the orb more. Once he can make his own ammo, he won't need to draw on the orb's supply, just the blueprints it holds.

When a brand new update comes out, I just open an text editor and read the rpy files to see what variables are being checked/set
