You don't. You get some at some points in the story but ultimately it is very much useless. All the items in the shop do is, for some of them, unlock adotional masturbation scenes, and that's about it.
You'll get a crapton of money at some point and be able to clear out the shop and still have money to spare anyway.

It doesn't add much more than three scenes anyway, so either getting a save for the gallery or doing a second, skip run to do the choices giving you money just to check those out is always an option. None of the items, as far as I remember, has any benefit gameplay-wise.Or you don't if you pick other choices and get nothing.

Now that I got my thoughts in order. I wanted to ask everybody what 5 to 6 man team they would build if they could choose anyone to be apart of it. There's no restrictions, besides the Numbered and other monsters. You can choose anybody with obviously the MC taking 1 spot.
For me, it would be Danica as my sniper/assassin, Deryl as my gear maker, and Michael as our tactician. My last two would be a pick of Alice and Laurie or Jake. Alice can do heavy damage while Jake or Laurie can lock down the targets.
You'll notice that my group hovers around lvl 2s and lvl 1s. That's mostly for balance sake and because I want everyone in the team to contribute. I believe my team, with the MC, can take down some lvl 3s to possibly late lvl 3 monsters and maybe even some superhumans on that lvl.
This is for the current MC(Peak lvl 2?), Danica(lvl 2), Alice(Peak lvl 1), Michael(lvl 1), Deryl(lvl 1) and Jake(lvl 2) or Laurie(lvl 2) in game. If Alice or the MC reach their next evolution next update, or Michael unlocks his power, the team could change drastically.

I know you said we can pick anyone, but I think we should at least take into account each character's personality and the team dynamics involved. Someone might want to pick Ella and Bernhard due to their immense power, but Ella in practice might actually make fights harder because she can't resist testing/fucking with the MC and we have no idea what fighting alongside Bernhard would actually be like. Could Ella even coexist with a H.E.R.O loyalist?
Personally, I'm going with Jake, Demi, Alice, Michael, and Alexis for a blend of power and versatility. Jake and Demi can potentially stop some fights in their tracks with their mental abilities. Alice and Michael are strong fighters with exceptional personal qualities (perseverance, bravery, loyalty, etc). Alexis has really powerful ranged combat abilities, and I trust her more than Danica. The way I see it this team would offer nonstop punishment for any potential opponent. Jake and Demi would attack their minds, Alice and Michael would batter them up close, and Alexis would slice and dice them from a distance. And the MC would presumably also be doing stuff. It all adds up!

At least for me, I took that in account for my team I put together. MC, Deryl, Alice and Michael already have good teamwork and their personality don't clash. With the addition of Danica and Laurie or Jake, it doesn't seem that hard to make them fall in line. Especially Danica since she runs off of respect. I can see her accepting Alice and Michael now that they're both superhumans and powerful.
Jake would be a problem though since Alice, Michael and maybe Danica wouldn't trust him with his kind of power. That's why I have Laurie as my other choice since she's relatively normal.
As for team planning and how things go. Laurie's crystal infection ability would be good for locking targets in place for Danica or Alice's mid to long range attacks. Deryl would supply everyone with weapons and stuff while Michael works out the plans. MC is the main dps/tank. Alice and Michael will help out too with Danica sitting in the back sniping.
As for your group, it looks nice. I wanted to pick Lexi or even Clark in mines as well but they're too strong so it throws my team off. For example, with Alexis, it makes Danica, Laurie and Alice useless since she can spawn her Iron into spikes that can trap, attack from any range and completely devastate almost any target with her being lvl 5.

Yeah, I see Jake as potentially the biggest threat to group cohesion in my lineup as well. Even if he and Alexis are on the same side now, it doesn't mean all is forgiven there, and no one is going to be particularly happy to fight alongside him. It's Jake's fate to have the creepiest power and he may end up being even more ostracized as a superhuman than he was as a regular dude. It's not that he doesn't deserve it, but it might be tough to keep him loyal long-term in that environment.
I'm also worried about Demi being one-shotted every time though we don't really know how powerful she (well, "she" in my playthroughs) can become with training.
I think anyone who can come up with a good lineup that makes use of Angelina's power deserves bonus points.
It's kinda surreal having all this drama about cheating in the sidestories only for the girl to end up a-ok with the MC having a harem.
