If memory serves, it starts with another character. I want to say Emily, but I might be missremembering... That other character brings you to the gym, where you meet her, which then lets you pick her route.

Ah I guess that makes sense, I think I ignored the emily route the most and the game probably does not give you enough time to see every route to fruition.
EDIT: at least now I am at a point where every choice leads me to the update end

You have to follow Emily path till you end to the gym, from there is kinda straighforward.
EDIT: don't forget to take the massage afterwards.
