As someone who is into emotional distance myself, I prefer Liz because she actually likes the MC and she clearly cares a lot about the people close to her.
To put it another way, Tiffany is ice cold emotional distance and Liz is lukewarm emotional distance.
Just because someone is into a certain thing doesn't mean they want it taken to the utmost extreme (especially if they're directly involved and not just a spectator). Some people like a little pain (being slapped), but not a lot of pain (being whipped).

I think the problem with a lot of your arguments is that your trying to argue it as if people just don't see what your seeing and just don't accept that people can see the exact same thing and not simply come to the same conclusion.

I disliked the twins being friends with his bully, either make him stop or don't be friends with one of them, you can make all the reasoning you like, I just thought it sucked, I think it would have worked so much better if the girls simply weren't in the picture then. Just say they meet after the bullying incident, changing this won't affect anything that matters and would improve the flow of the MC and Deryl's relationship.

Amber was the designated first crush from the beginning and as the story progressed, she got eclipsed by better written female characters and the closest thing we've gotten to try and explain why he liked her was something about them being similar, which isn't even true, the MC is often emotional, expressive and driven.

More stoic than average, but compared with Liz he's very expressive, I find his surprised reaction amusing, because it looks funny and yes, emotional and driven, we read his inner monologue, we know how often he gets angry, scarred, turned on, and absolutely driven, even in the early game the problem with the MC was that he only had a drive for things he was interested in and he wasn't interested in school, he has a reputation for being tenacious which was not only made clear in the flashback.

that was just my patricipation to the discussion, i dont really care if you consider liz a good LI or not, youre free to feel about that however you want. I think shes a unique and fun LI tho even if shes not the best

I always take "Sylar" from the tv series heroes, eating peoples brains to get new abilitys kinda fits our mc (yeah yeah sylar didnt reeeeaaaally do that)

If I need to use a name it's usually Theone, if I need a full name Theone Indeed. The hero name I picked for this was Only.

My point was that even if you like emotional distance, you might still prefer Liz over Tiffany, since you didn't seem to think that made sense.
And MC is more like Liz than he is other people. I think part of Liz's character development is, if she hasn't already (I don't remember if she's displayed any signs of that), going to be about becoming driven to get stronger, not just for Amber but because she enjoys fighting and growing. Just like the MC.

One moment please, are you seriously trying to call that bullying? Informing someone that they're being cheated on isn't bullying, it doesn't matter what the situation behind it is or the motivation behind it, if it's actually happening it really doesn't matter. It's not a question of who was in the wrong, Deryl was being a dick the entire time, cheated on his girlfriend and then took it out on the MC when shit fell apart due to his own actions. I really cannot understand how you could possibly think it was mutual in any way, is it because the MC fought back and didn't just take it?

The MC didn't actively fight back until the brutal beating Deryl gave him in front of the school body where he removed his bandages. Every perceived slight against Deryl prior was an accident and not at all targeted. Even telling Amber about the infidelity was a slip of the tongue in anger. After the bandaged removal incident, the MC didn't back down. Eye for an Eye. As for the twins... Liz as always didn't care too much and Amber felt too guilty about abandoning Deryl in his time of pain... Until it became too much for both of them. I honestly thought the twins' inaction then actions were pretty realistically human.

This...I actually agree with mostly. Prior to him being turned he was a lot more like Liz (Lazy, apathetic, etc.). Liz herself mentioned this several times. Becoming SH and all the events in his life have changed him to be more outgoing/emotional. As for Liz herself, she was changing ever so slightly to want a boyfriend. She also wanted to become superhuman so she wouldn't be a burden on her friends. And she's definitely found something to strive for with the twins' most recent development. Like you said, I look forward to her growing because she finally found something worth doing.

Guyver. It's from an old manga, Bio-Booster Armor Guyver, where a young man finds himself bonded with a symbiotic suit of living armor. It was just the first thing that came to mind when asked for a name while wearing living armor, even if the MC's armor is not much like the Guyver unit. Over time I've felt it's become pretty appropriate, though. In the manga, the Guyver was created by aliens trying to turn humans into living weapons, which they abandoned after it turned out the humans always rebelled. "Guyver" is even revealed to be a word in their language meaning "out of control". I feel that works well for this story about being given power by creatures from another world and using it to fight against them.

My superhero name is "No-Thing".

I tried to play it off like, the crowd asked "whats your superhero name?", MC replied "nothing" and people misheard it as The No-Thing. And I feel like the name fits because MC technically doesn't have a set shape or body, they're nothing (and everything)

I get lots of appropriately edgy lines like "I am No-Thing," or "I love No-Thing" too.

My superhero name is Nightwish after the band (fits the aesthetic) and it works perfectly with the story - I actually forgot you get to pick the name it looks so natural to me right now.

The MC's name is John Doomscroller which is hilarious to me because I keep forgetting the last name until one of the NPCs is like "Come with me, Mr. Doomscroller"

I'm usually pretty bad with naming and cool nicknames but i came up with "Shadowmorph" and i'm pretty happy about it. As for the MC name i went for an uninspired Lucas Green, it's just a name that for some reasons i use by default for all Mcs in AVNs, dunno why lol
