These are the effects of the lack of normal work, the guy was unable to organize an alternative power supply for a week, let me guess, lack of money? Well, this game is on Steam and Patreon doesn't earn anything (Of course its earn a lot shit) I think. *welp*

The guy was probably surprised after leaving the hole that there were no monsters fighting among themselves in the city, and the world today is even worse than the one shown in the game.

I mean, fuck ''normal work'', normal work sucks.
If he can make a living through his artistic skills alone then cheers to him. Normal work is the most soul numbing shit imaginable.

Something I'd like to add is that WW confirmed in one of his streams that being evolved by the serum doesn't mean you'll be weaker than a natural evolved level 5, it only eliminates the randomness, having the potential to be a level 5 seems to be the difference. That is to say that if Malik, Bernhardt or Henri had used the serum to evolve they'd be just as strong, or even stronger, considering they could've evolved sooner. Part of the reason why Elijah or Kira aren't as strong iis because they were never meant to be lvl 5
I guess Ella's whole spiel about "only the strong survive" makes a lot more sense.

I believe mentality is the biggest factor in how strong a power shapes up. And a person that faces a natural evolution has 99 times out of 100 a much stronger mentality compared to one that took the serum shortcut.

That's why even if MC's lv3 evolution technically counts as a serum evolution it doesn't affect his overall potential. He was by all definitions ready to make that evolution.

What even counts as normal work? Only if other people tell you what to do and decide how much money you get from them?

Some people are so fucking braindead, being proud about being a lemming

To me normal work is what most people do to stay afloat.
Ofc there are exceptions, there are people who genuinely have a passion for jobs others do only as a chore, but for most people, they are just a way to stay afloat, sacrifice your time for something which doesn't light a spark of passion in your for the security of a stable, monthly income.

So my point is, if someone sacrifices that sense of security for something which has a risk of financial instability, but also actually makes them happy, then I have nothing but respect for that person.

I've personaly been in the service industry, I've been a dishwasher before that, I've been on a construction sites even earlier still. And now I have a career in the food industry with a stable and pretty well off income.

But does it genuinely stir my passion ? Fck no, if I had artistic talents, I for one would take a leap and abandon the security of monotony for the risky chance at something exciting.

IIRC He actually said taking the serum is outright better than natural evo, provided you are able to naturally evo on your own(So the trio would get an even better outcome if they reach lvl5 with the serum instead of natural evo). Also evolving to lvl 5 naturally took a toll on the trio.

The best that can be hoped for if those names are literal is that Malik is confident he can control the heat flow of his flames to keep the energy from spreading. Realistically that wouldn't actually make things better, physics says a lot of very bad things happen if you condense that much energy into one place. But maybe the physics-breaking Malik got at level 4 lets him ignore those. If not...then yeah, either way, Malik was probably going to destroy the world with that attack. Between that and him blowing up a warehouse with Lexi inside just because Aglaecwif mentioned something about his past he didn't like, it seems Malik does not handle frustration well. Not a good trait for someone with that much power.

Or maybe the Planck attacks are just hyperbole. I agree, I want those to not be literal. It's just such a massive escalation from everything else we've seen if those names are literal. Malik and Bernhardt are side characters, it's unlikely that they'll be what ultimately defeats the monsters. That's on the MC and his friends. If we've got to get even stronger than those two, then I hope for sanity's sake that they're not really that powerful. For us to go beyond them...it would get pretty wild.
It doesn't make any sense for MC or his friends to be close to or even stronger than the trio outside of the arbiter shenanigans.

I'm only nearing the end of the 'Protag, Liz, Amber, and Deryl have been captured by SIN' arc and I don't know what's happened to Liz yet cause stupid fucking Deryl just keeps dropping stupid fucking hints but I swear I'll never forgive you WeirdWorld for this arc. I came here for a wank and instead I'm curled up in a blanket sniffling waiting for it to end cause Amber and Liz (if she's alive and she better be you bastard) are gonna need therapy for life. I can't handle this shit. I am scared to keep reading. Liz just woke up with weird eyes. FUCK.

I think the best way to think of it is, is that his 3rd evolution was organic, it happened in the heat of battle and the MC was at risk and overcame an evolution that could occur naturally in battle, with all the potential risks and overcoming those seems to be a big factor in growth, it was also type appropriate, a shapeshifter covered in flesh.

But the most important thing to never forget is that the writing needed a reason to explain why the MC can't skip levels.

Maybe that will be the case but he also says never to take what he says seriously.

From a writing perspective the MC will almost certainly end up in the top tier of superhumans and will do so through natural evolution, simply because unless he wants to rush things, it's the far more interesting method. A huge part of the story's appeal is how well done his growth is.

The "come for the porn, stay for the emotional damage", is one of my favorite VN genres by now :HideThePain:

Man I didn't expect this VN to be this good , Just thought It would be a overpowered MC vn but I am happy I was wrong
I think one of the VN's strongest points is how extraordinarily well WeirdWorld handles the power scaling and flow of combat. Many other pieces of media either have an OP MC or have an OP MC but "disguise" it by having them job for the first 90% of a fight before an power of friendship/asspull/chosen one powers bail them out.

Meanwhile in Superhuman you get a very broad range of situations with well detailed justification for each. There's times where the MC is hopelessly outclassed and will get put in his place if he actually tries to fight. There's times where the MC is evenly matched and just has to make good decisions in order to get a clean win. There's times where the MC is again outclassed but not beyond the point of reason such that with optimal tactics, unshakeable resolve, and a dose of ingenuity he can succeed. There's times where, basking in the glow of hard earned power, the MC dominates the enemy in a way that shows off the culmination of all his efforts and growth.

And, whats extra wild and highly unusual for the genre is that the side characters get this too! Instead of being the ceremonial ball washers of the MC, they get their own time in the limelight with the same level of care given to their fights.
