Just started this game a few days ago. I'm at the frat house fight with Kenny. So far the story is AMAZING (and I know it gets much better from skimming through the Wiki).

The visuals are pretty worthless though. Very lazy (and the dev even joked about it in-game). You're hardly ever shown anything that you're told is going on.

The visuals get better. WeirdWorld is just one guy, give him a bit of slack.

I have seen the degeneracy left in this thread, some of the dogclapper posts alone are pretty out there, but this makes me glad that I came in so late.

I don't think she meant it that way, the Silat was previously a Sea Human, her King therefore being the invincible Lord which we know was the same as Henri(most likely an Arbiter born again), so if we assume the Queen being also that, the comment of MC ending as something different since he is Evolution wouldn't make sense, as even if it's a different Arbiter, she should know that in the end they are all the same type of beings.

Personally, I'm buying more and more the idea of the Eye not being the Arbiter of Evolution, but something different, like, it feels to much like a red herring.

Maybe, but there's a good amount of things connecting it to the apostles that would lead to confusion for it to be something outside of them. Like the fact that it needs a stronger connection via evolution, or that line at the start of the Cole fight "L-LIfe. The birth. A product. What came before."

I still think Claudia being Valravn or the 7th's spawn would've been vastly more interesting than anything Emily could bring for it. Especially since Valravn is already perfect for Dark. Unfortunately, Claudia got Time and is basically a side girl.

The Eye being Evolution is by far the most likely option, but I think the possibility of it being other thing is also on the table, even if the "evidence"(add more quotes) is less than the one pointing it to actually be the Arbiter. The comment of the Silat for one, but also the lines you mention, Life, Birth, what came before, some of the concepts that the Eye uses to refer to itself seem more tied to Life/Origin as a whole rather than just Evolution, like when the Eye tell MC that he is connected to "Every Branch", and he only chose MC because he was the best option at the time, but other, better vessel may have been born since then, but there aren't any other Spawn of Body/Memory around as far we know, which make me think, the Eye is connected to every branch, as in the Twelve Traits, not just 3/4

Then there is the Eye's words back on Battle of Diamonds, there it says that Hex was born from him(when talking about the parallel dimension), and regard all Monsters and Spawns present on the battle as their tainted lineage, born from him but that he can't abide it, Hex is Ether(and time probably)and most Monsters/Spawn have a bunch of mixed traits, still, the Eye regard them as offshoots of theirs, all this to say, I think the Eye, rather than Evolution, might be something different, behind the line of Monsters, like, Eye>Arbiters>Apostles perhaps. Also the Chaos memory in which is implied how the 3 Arbiters that did prepared lost in the end, mention "We three and one another", when talking about their eventual revenge, that might have been the eye, but if it is an Arbiter itself, it would be weird to just simply not include it with the three, instead of make that distinction.

You are disregarding the possibility that Evolution is a false positive because Evolution simply provides the best pathway for MC to evolve into the perfect vessel. That would explain the overlay of evolution and the unknown.

That remains unsatisfying though because we only have doubt based on a single comment to model our expectations on. The only other possibility I can see is that the ancient humans, whether they were sky or sea people, and their progenitors, as we must expect at this point, actually kind of succeeded with their god creation schemes and something much larger than expected came out. That would be the tie back to Henry, because at this point our lad is the closest wrong thing that I can think of, except spacetime-lad. But that's just so out there with so little information that it loops back right into unsatisfying.

That being said, I am fairly certain our first evolution trance still holds some hidden meaning in that regard.
