One thing people always need to remember that the reason many of these games are harem, the reason the MC can sleep around with no consequences is because its to actually make sure you can enjoy the content of these games, to not waste your time. Because old things don't become old because they are valueless. Very few people get by in life by carrying boulders around. So looking back on what has been held conventional wisdom for long stretches of time has inherent value. Especially if that wisdom is found in very disparate places.
