What why would it go down to version 0.1 again?
Versions aren't real numbers so 0.100 isn't the same as 0.1.
However this depends on what versioning scheme the developer uses. There isn't any definitive standard.

WW's versioning system is almost non existent and the numbers don't carry any semantics. 0.90 to 0.99 is more than half the game for example.

Jake spoilers I guess idk

I really wish there was a way to kill Jake without consuming him. It's clearly possible, given all the people the MC has killed, even with attacks directly through the brain, without absorbing their brain nuggets or gaining any corruption, and it's not just because Jake's superhuman either, right? It's supposed to be just killing in general that corrupts you.

I just think killing him is an entirely justifiable action, given what he's capable of and what he was very clearly planning to do, that is, literal world domination through mental slavery, and I hate that there's no way to off him without the game assuming it's a result of the corruption getting the better of MC for a moment. Sure, H.E.R.O. would've stopped him, but MC didn't know that. I also hate that you go a bit psycho about it when you fix Mia's memories. A single point of corruption wouldn't make MC that unhinged. It would've been nice if an MC who killed Jake, but has otherwise low corruption would instead try to justify his actions instead of going all "he's inside of me now :)". Sure, Mia would still be upset, but then maybe that branch could lead to her forgiving MC eventually or at least acknowledging his reasons.

Does the writing fall off at the mountain assault for anyone else? Ella being able to flawlessly control hundreds of monsters, including S-Ranks with 0 downsides and infighting and being able to instantly send them to attack other sectors as a diversion during a defense has to be one of the biggest asspulls in fiction. Dev clearly made H.E.R.O too strong
Ella doesn't control them tho she has other chosen helping her because her plans aid them aswell.Aglaecwif and Eisheth and Tanos were aiding her so it isn't really that far fetched they have Hex to transport shit around so they could find enough normal S class monsters to use they don't even need to enslave them as the normal monsters are subservient to the chosen.

Except she doesn't. Aglaecwif makes a deal with the MC and allows him to destroy the ring or whatever, even though she's supposed to be protecting it.

Yeah, for the entire game its been pretty obvious that Ella is a schemer and it up to some shit, being secretive and mysterious are kinda like 80% of her characterization lmao. You also see her talking to monsters when you first join HERO, and she lets Valravn out, so it's not like something like that wasn't foreshadowed, you can't really call something an asspull when there is foreshadowing towards it, and things like Glae not actually following what Ella wants. SIN also still kinda gets dunked on by HERO in that encounter so it's not like it undermines how much power HERO have. If anything I think it would kinda just be really fucking lame if Ella and SIN were pushovers that got kicked around by HERO without a fight

I thought that was her being able to subdue a monster through force, not her being able to have an army. I'm a slow reader tho, I'm still in the chimera fight

She does, but you help her get her memories back on your own later, at the bonfire party. She learns you killed Jake and is, understandably, upset, and MC acts a little "corrupt" in response, scaring her off. I just wish killing him didn't have to be tied to corruption and "giving in" to the primal urges. MC has killed plenty of people without it being a corruptive thing.

I'm with other poster in that early Ella and late game Ella don't fully mesh.

I don't think anything has changed.

1. It's pretty clear that everything Ella has done is in service to a higher purpose, some overarching goal. That includes dating Dave and messing with the MC and other students.

2. People can be soft with some people and extremely cold to others. She doesn't actually kill the MC, though. That dead end seems to be the same as the one where she takes him to Memory and they get ambushed by the Lord of Darkness. WW just didn't want to retread old ground.

I wouldn’t say they don’t mesh, I think it’s more that she feels just feels a lot more like a pure villain when you don’t understand anything about her. Most of the ‘Ella being less awful’ shit also comes from Doll Ella, which is her pre meeting the MC again, so there could be some reason for a slight attitude shift we’re not aware of. Having perspective on things like Hero being kinda awful, Tanos and his connection to her, the scenes with Christie and Emily after Ella ‘dies’, and the fact that Ella had known the MC in the past (although that much was obvious for a long while at least to me) do a lot to humanize her even if she’s still kind of an evil bitch. Ella hasn’t exactly just been completely evil the whole game either. She’s kinda never not been on the MC’s side, even if ‘being on his side’ means throwing shit at him to see if he’ll survive it. We’ve already seen her do ‘good’ things like taking care of the orphan kids and fixing Mia. In both cases she pretty upfront tells the MC something along the lines of ‘why can’t I be evil sometimes and good sometimes?’ She’s always struck me as the type of character that would end up being an ‘I do what needs to be done’ type anti-hero/anti-villain

Would be cooler if killing him and consuming him were two different choices.
