Playing through this masterpiece for the 10th time and have a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer.

1. Are there ever any hints given as to what monsters each captain got their powers from?


4. What is the difference between a pure spawn and a greater spawn?

I think Nyx's monster is related to or is that A rank Michaeal and the Mc tag teamed, that could return from death, at the end of the update. Doll Ella said that it would keep reviving until it ran out of energy. Didn't Nyx tell Mc that her powers wouldn't let her die even when she couldn't fight against the ghosts she killed. In the battle of Diamonds Ella said Nyx's powers was a unique and powerful adaptation of some monsters she kept around. So maybe Nyx's ability to revive people besides herself was something she gained in later evolutions, hence an adaptation.

Syla said greater spawns should be pure and implied that the other apostles will not tolerate their spawns being impure, but she didn't say only apostles produce greater spawn. So, I think a greater spawn refers to a superhuman infected by an A rank or higher monster and a pure spawn is someone who's powers aren't influenced by other monsters unrelated to their infector's.

A greater spawn is a superhuman infected by an apostle or (maybe) their chosen. A pure spawn is a greater spawn with 100% compatibility with their apostle

I mean, the game def sets up Ella as a super complicated enemies-to-lovers thing, and like I said, Ella points out herself that you can have feelings for someone and still hate them. After all, I assume there is a reason the game specifically asked those as two separate questions.


My hope was that being forced to spend these months together with “her” could change an MC’s mind about her, especially as you learn the truth about your shared past. But unfortunately if you hate her, you also miss out on little dialogue scenes like her wishing you a happy birthday on top of missing the sex scenes.

Sometimes fighting, competing and harassing one another becomes such a common occurrence that we adapt to the strain to the point that life without it feels empty. Such antagonism can not only drain you, but constantly challenge you to be more resilient, more aware and stronger.
Can't play nice with one another, can't be without each other.

And for better or worse, Ella just behaves a lot with the intention of becoming such a catalyst. Siren, Antagonist, Lover. Mentor. Predator. Schemer.
The worst part about her is that she knows you know. That's her game and she still challenges you to beat her. And you know she'd be absolutely exhilarated if you won.

I still think what WW has done here is brilliant. Every argument about Ella just proves it.

As much as her sneakiness and manipulation piss me off I love Ella as a character and this game would be worse without her. The fact that a fictional character is able to actually frustrate and (on my first playthrough) surprise me shows just how well written she is.

If this person thinks this, then they didn't even play pass the mall event, since the game literally tells you that all the side content can (and should) be finished before continuing the story, as it will be inacessible afterwards. Also we have a warning, from Ella herself, that if we don't train, we die. So any player will make it a second nature to always train as soon as we have the option.

It's funny to me that this is even in the game. Imagine caring about socializing when you discovered kick ass supernatural powers. My family, much less my friends, wouldn't see me for years as I engaged in a hermit training arc.

I wouldn't say it's the same case.
Sure, the players can chose if they like some characters or not. That's their prerogative.
But as far as story writting goes, the MC most definitely does not hate Ella. His feelings are conflicted, but at most he's angry and disapproving, not hateful.

I've read through the last few pages of thread replies. It seems a popular theory that it is Aos that is talking to MC at the last update's ending. Am I the only one who feels that it isn't Aos but the MC hearing Memory clearly for the first time due to evolving and having his memory finally fixed. (mostly?) He still seems to be dealing with some memory loss due to only just recognizing that Ella was part of the his runaway/homeless/probably criminals and squatters gang.


One of the last lines MC said seems to be a callback to his second evolution when he says something bout something happening to his body "but yet I'm not afraid". He said something similar when he felt the darkness spreading across his body and devouring it as well as the electricity Klaus zapped him with. This is easy to miss if you didn't just replay the game like I just did. So don't be surprised if you missed it. Hell, I missed alot of the Deus and Henri stuff you all have pointed out. I thought the twin was Gunvald due to his strength being superior to everyone else's. I didn't even pay any mind or remembered Henri evolving so quickly. Granted, I don't have a patreon and just started reading this thread so perhaps that contributes to my lack of awareness somewhat.

Gonna see if I can find and compare the exact moments between MC's Klaus evo and last update's ending.

On a side note, I have a strong belief that Alice is about to evolve as well but the belief isn't as strong. I think it's confirmed that Micheal already has evolved or began evolving towards the very end.

Still digesting all of this Arbiter information. I was just thinking WW could've made his story universe metaphysics more complex or thorough(not really much of criticism more of a subjective desire so please don't take it as such) and I get to see the Christmas present that he may have and I just have to wait for Christmas to be allowed to rip through that beautiful gift wrapping paper!

The reason that most of us think it's Aos is simply that we understood everything clearly this individual said. The apostles speech is usually not fully understood, we also know that the 3rd and 4th are weird in that they mostly work together.

LMFAO I'm kinda glad. I ignored this game for about year because of its early art, not knowing the art evolves after Jake's arc and now its training in the H.E.R.O simulation room. Kinda insane to think about how much he's improved over such a short period of time!

By the time I started playing and got into it, I felt like I was on a never-ending roller-coaster with an autonomous next-ride seat system that made it so just when you think the ride is over and it's been coasting for a bit, the system slots your coaster seat into a next new, and unique coaster without you having to get up, with different and novel thrills and then repeating this process again and again while somehow never getting dull, until you think you've gone into giddy hallucinatory heaven because there's just no way something can be this good for this long! But there is something and it's called Superhuman. Standing ovation to Weird World!

I'm not sure if it's just me but it feels like for its time of existence and workforce of one, Superhuman has a shit load of great and varied content.

My advice: Just try other highly rated VNs

I personally would suggest Parasite Black and Bloodcrave. They are the closest VNs I can think of in terms of storytelling or erotic similarity. They're decently dark with good action. Bloodcrave is actually darker sexually, if that's your thing! Do not expect the same level of variety or thrill from another VN tho. I don't think such another VN exists.... yet(hopefully). Other good thrills do tho! I've looked at over 500 AVNs at least!

2. Of the five captains, is it ever explained or hinted at how Bernhardt is so absurdly powerful even compared to S+ monsters?

3. Is Bramon Xanthe a superhuman himself? Got curious after Henri mentions that Xanthe can directly put knowledge from his brain into books, though Klaus says he isn't.

4. What is the difference between a pure spawn and a greater spawn?

1. Not the specific species but we do get some info about them. Nico told us that Malik's monster is a C class. Berny's is likely a C-B class since Pink cow said it's far weaker than her kin which is likely A class. Nyx's is likely the A class reviving monster we fought in MW, given their similar color scheme and how similar their powers are(reviving, power negation, etc.)

2. Henri said the trio is just built different.

3. Is there any reason to think Henri was lying when he told you so? Also that's Henri not Klaus. Klaus is the mafia kid we killed.

4. Greater Spawn = 1st gen spawn(those directly infected by Apostles). Pure Spawn = those inherit a pure trait from an Apostle which are all Greater Spawns since it's basically only possible to inherit the pure trait if you are a 1st gen spawn(the longer the lineage the more impunity in it, tho there are some special case like Alice who seem to be pure despite being a 2nd gen spawn), In short, basically all Pure Spawns are Greater Spawns but not all(only most) Greater Spawns are Pure Spawns(there are people like MC who's a Greater Spawn but not pure).
