Both have done/been party to "real evil shit" as well.
Hell, the exact same goes for many comic villains, and arguably real world ones too.
People don't hate them for why they're the way they are, but for their actions.Jared is a boy in a man's body with a crippling father complex and Cole is hopelessly obsessed with a woman who will never love him, after a childhood of being abused and treated like an object. That's how I see them and that's why I personaly can't bring myself to hate either them.
Being able to have non-taunting options is always good.I swear, in my playthrough I enjoy taunting people when the option presents itself, but when the Mc meets Cole again I hope we can be less antagonistic.
It's like when we were given options not to treat Jake like shit before and after becoming superhuman. It lets us further mould the MC into how we want him to be, and is always great for adding to replayability.
