Need help with the game. Recently I tried to use multi-mode. Initially everything was fine. But later, when loaded back, everything just broke. Oh well I thought. I wasn't that far in the story anyway. So I reinstalled the game from a scratch. And I could not start the game. Game asks me "Are you 18 or over?" and that's it. Nothing happens no matter what I press. It just 'blinks' for a moment with 'yes' and 'no' and goes back to the initial screen.

If you reinstalled the game from scratch and the error persists, maybe it has to do with the save data itself. Consider the following:


-Reinstall game from scratch (again, sorry...).
-Boot the game up and go to the "load" section, see if it detects any savefiles you made while using the Multimod (If a savefile exist, you should see the image preview of the save, even if pitch black).
-Go to the savefile directory (C:\Users\PokerfaceQ_or_whatever_your_username_is\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\Superhuman) and try to delete "persistent" along any savefile you made with Multimod installed and boot up the game again on "start" for a fresh game.
-If it works, don't install the multimod yet. Save your progress AFTER the +18 screen at any point, and close the game and reopen it, ideally twice to see if it works 1) from a fresh start, again; or 2) loading your newly created savefile.

-If all this doesn't work, erase all the saves on the previous directory altogether (sorry...) and retry again WITHOUT the multimod.


Let me know if it works, I never had this problem but I did fuck up some RenPy games modding/editing saves manually and the nuclear option usually works.


Edit: Also, if you need a savefile, I just made you one a few screens after the blockage so you can name the MC. I never sent a file over here but I believe it should be easy. ALSO, make sure to check it for virus. F95 scans it I think, but since for you I'm a stranger for all you know, better safe than sorry.

what is the game version and mod version you're using? Coz the mod wasn't updated for quite a while to 9999b, it was only usable for game version 9999a for a couple weeks iirc

Thank you for the help. Tried nuclear option (deleted RenPy\Superhuman directory fully), reinstalled the game, made sure that there were no saves, clicked the "Start" button, got the same error. :(
Also tried to use savefile after nuclear option, didn't help.

Edit: tried to search for logs, got this from Superhuman-0.9999b-pc\game\errors.txt :

The game version is Superhuman-0.9999b-pc.
Later, after I got the issue I looked into the mod and I saw that it has problems. But now it's irrelevant as I deleted everything

At risk of making a fool of myself: Are you sure this error log is the one from the soft-lock? It dates Fri Sep 11 23:32:20 2020 and I think it has to do with leap-years judging from the timestamp. Also, game's RenPy version as of 0.9999b is Ren'Py 8.0.3.22090809, not 7.3.5.606.

Finally, I found my "log.txt" (with the latest date for me) on the game folder itself (Superhuman-0.9999b-pc), not "Superhuman-0.9999b-pc\game".


EDIT: LMAO, WeirdWorld ships the game with the identical error log you mentioned! I have the very same exact log on the path you said. Suffice to say, this shouldn't be related to your soft-lock at all

Yeah, you're right, it's in the zip, so not related, my bad) Back to the problem. Do you need to install something related to RenPy for games like this to work? I can't remember if I installed some engine, application etc. previously. Maybe I can delete RenPy and install it again. Or does it not work like that?
Also, found some obscure forum where someone few years ago wrote that this problem might be related to drivers, but I'm not sure if this is a valid point or not.

Edit: LOL. I tried something I probably should have done earlier - I restarted my PC and deleted everything. Now it works fine)
RIP saves but I was only on day 13 so no worries.

Glad it's fixed!

And regarding your question even if solved, I think each game has its own RenPy engine (On the RenPy folder lol), hence the different script versions. So it shouldn't be a widespread problem.
Also, I recently started to use "Driver store explorer (RAPR)" which lets you see the date of your drivers, their outdated versions if present, save them, update and delete obsolete versions. Totally recommend, and more programs like this exist too.

Finally, I could send you a day 13 savefile if you want (but you would need to tweak the MC's name and hero's name), but unless you like to play on 0 Corruption runs (You can go as low as -23 LOL) like me, you may want to start over as you said.
Or for small tweaks if you find the multimod troublesome, you can always directly edit the savefiles in question with <

Hey guys! I posted these two simple Alice animations earlier but was surprised that nobody had reacted until now So I thought either it was some bug, maybe some punishment, or nobody really cared which well, they are pretty simple anyway Let me know what you thought - are you guys even seeing this post?

Well, I think it should be possible with the right prompt. This was actually my first test, and it didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted either… but I still found it decent enough to think it would add something cool to the game. With the right models and prompts (which I don’t have access to), you could probably make much better animations than this.

Yeah hahaha, but there are also plenty of people crazy about Alice, so I really did find the silence strange.
