MC’s trait split — 50% in one, 49% in the other — leaves him stuck in no-man’s-land: not a true master of either. In my opinion, if he wants to reach the top, the smartest move would be to obtain the power of the eye, which is tied to the Evolution trait — a trait MC doesn’t have yet, but could potentially acquire.

Yeah bro, no worries, it makes sense. Each apostle counts as one. If we remove Memory and Body, we’re left with 10 apostles — five on each side. That gives us 0.005 + 0.005 = 1%.

Ah, so it's because of a translation software. And Homestuck's an old web series. The trolls, a species in the series, tend to all have unique typing quirks, like using all caps or inserting cat puns everywhere or replacing certain letters with numbers.
