Why does 0.005 + 0.005 = 1%?If the 1% makes all the difference though, doesn't that break math and enter philosophy space?
In decimals, 1% is written as 0.01 (because 1 divided by 100 = 0.01).
If you split that 0.01 into two equal parts, you get 0.005 + 0.005.
So when someone says “0.005 and 0.005,” they’re adding up exactly 0.01, which equals 1% in total.
From what I understand, that’s how it works.
