There's only so much he can realistically do before it's just being dragged out. He has extended the game quite a bit already and it's being extended again in the next updates leading up to 1.0. If the ending doesn't satisfy people, then that's just something that can't helped.

I already assume the ending isn't going to be to my liking regardless. If it turns out like I think with Ella's side of things.
While I agree Superhuman is getting put up on the shelf for a WHILE once 1.0 is done, it really doesn't feel like the story can be completed without a second game. The big plot threads are just TOO big, unless they get rushed or cut off. Even just character development for a bunch of the most important characters would never be able to wrap up before the end of the game in a way that would be satisfying if a theoretical Superhuman 2 is never intended to happen.

I'll be fine with the game ending as setting the stage for something bigger (like that much larger conflict that kicks off in the Liderc dead end when that world gets destroyed) even if WW never actually returns to it. There's nothing wrong with that as long as the climax is well written. And I'd be fine if WW never gets back to the story for multiple years, he clearly has other plans and I have no doubt he'll need the time away to recover from some burnout. But if we get some attempt at a fully definitive conclusion with no more story left to tell, with 1.0 and bugfixes as the end of Superhuman forever... yikes. That's gonna suck.

Yo, I'm back. How's it going, how was your new year?

Mine was pretty good, went back home to the family, saw lots of old friends and such, lots of loved ones, etc, it was a good time. Ate a bunch of good food and haven't worked out at all so I'm feeling fat as fuck, but we'll get back into shape soon I'm sure.

Anyway, did some thinking over my holiday, read your guys feedback over my last devlog, etc and I think I'm formulating a basic plan of how next update and the future of superhuman is gonna go. From what I gathered the most popular suggestion and one I mostly agree with, was to do next update in acts, releasing them bi-weekly/monthly and then doing the remake of all the game's early art, etc as a separate later release. So that's probably what I'm gonna do. I'm not sure if it'll be bi-weekly or monthly, I'll decide that closer to the release date, but for now that's the general plan.

The 1.0 update after that will include the art remakes, the expanded content(New choices throughout the game, more consequences for previous content, maybe a gender bender side route, etc), as well as the various endings of the game(There will only be one true ending, or maybe two depending on how I decide things), so there's be "new" new content to look forward to as well, wrapping up the game superhuman and setting up that other thing. So yeah, in case anybody was wondering, no, next update won't be the last.

Now where does sex come in? Like I said, it's gonna be a little weird, with routes added before Deryl's party. I've decided it's mainly going to be a continuous storyline-type side route that will be added to in acts much like the main story, and concluding with the final added act just before 1.0. It will be featuring mainly the lieutenants and the MCs journey to attaining their rank and strength. Yes there will be gender bender, yes there will be hot monsters and maybe you'll get to fuck some of the lieutenants too.

Now how long will this all take? I'm still just guessing at this point. Like I said last post, there's gonna be a fuckload of action and such to come, so it's gonna be a while. I think I said last time it'd be a similar release time as Eternum's schedule?(Looking forward to playing that shit by the way) so around a 6 month development time, starting from last update's release. But we'll see as we progress.

Anyway, that's it, thanks for reading. Streams will be back on next week, drop by if you wanna ask some shit. See you later.
Excellent, now we just have to wait.

If 1.0 is the end that means we probably won't get to kill Cole, or see the Mc ever beat Ella and get his answers. We also won't see the Mc fight Indra as an equal either, because he needs to be stronger than just level 5 to fight him. We may not even see the twins resolve their issues.

Yes there is still a lot to tell and I don't see how all things will be resolved in a satisfying way if the game ends soon/this year without a sequel planned (which might not even be made but it won't be the end of the story)

With the end coming, I think the chances of the MC evolving twice increased.
Perhaps, but he'd still be no match for Indra, he has to train at lvl 5

It's better for the game to end leaving things open-ended and with suspense, indicating that there will be a sequel, because, regardless of how good the game is so far, in my opinion, if the ending is rushed and poorly done, it will completely ruin the game.

If the game ends with a hint of a sequel, it will be more satisfying than if the game has a poorly executed conclusion that fails to resolve complex history points.

I am a firm believer that sometimes we don't need every answer, it makes it more interesting to theorize and debate like I've seen many times here. Sure I would be sad if some of the misteries that involve the MC are left on the air but I'm more excited about where does he end at the end and if I think about it that means his story it's not entirely over since he's not dead yet. Thinking about future content for when this one is over the idea I like the most is a spinoff, a new mc with a strong affinity with a diferent mega entity but that would be in a few years from now so I'll enjoy the ride there.

Yeah but if superhuman ends this year than MC won't even have the chance to beat Indra or even get to Ella's lvl. finding out whatever secrets there are would be like the least of our problems if we get a shitty rushed ending like that.

That's true, I honestly don't think the MC would get there here, since the setting would take a lot, maybe as a sequel or a special episode kind of thing, for me it's just that the stuff happening now is more urgent than the vengance against Indra, I don't remember exactly where but I think there was a part where they said getting to level 5 wasn't like the other ones so maybe it won't take that much time (btw I haven't played the latest update so i'm possibly very wrong). For now I would rather let things develop, later on this year we will now what to expect and for now it's not even a week from 2025.

My one hope is that we would bring Ella's storyline to more-or-less of a conclusion.

I'm ok with all of the other plot points being kicked down the road, but I really want Superhuman 1 to still feel like a complete story, in the way that movies have complete self-contained stories/arcs even if there are other, overarching storylines that carry over to sequels.

The game starts with Ella, it's mostly been about her bullshit and relationship to MC, everything else (Indra, Cole, Jared, Talos) came afterwards and I don't think it would be satisfying if this game didn't end with some kind of climactic showdown between her and MC. (Plus I just don't know if I can deal with an entire other game of her nonsense)

I don't want a conclusion to Ella's storyline so much as a climax to her immediate goal, that big secret ritual she's collecting the hearts for. That would be the perfect setup for a sequel (even if we never get one). I don't really see a showdown against her happening, but that's probably because she's my favorite and I would absolutely side with her. I could see the doll testing MC when he evolves to level 4, to make sure he can handle himself for when real Ella comes back though.

Yeah, I really hope this is what we get and that the conclusion doesn't try to neatly wrap things up. Whether WW ever makes a sequel or not, I'd rather all the big plot threads and character development that have no chance of of a satisfying resolution so soon be left there so we can at least think about where the story could go.
