You actually can win with your honor intact, but you have to pass a very steep stat check. Look up Ploot's walkthrough.

damn fr? ima have to look it up it always upset me cause i thought brianna helping was how the fight was meant to go always wanted to be honorable
Valravn's battle is on a points system. You need three points to win, four to get Valravn to respect you, and there are a maximum of five points available. You get one point for having Skill of 19 or above, one point for having a Power of 80 or above, one point for keeping away from his blade when he surrounds it in darkness, one point for going all out when he starts getting overwhelmed, and one point for deciding that you don't need to evolve and can beat him with your current strength. If you get at least four points, when you fall to the ground with him you're in better shape from taking fewer wounds throughout the fight, making you strong enough to take him down with one final Mantis Punch. That earns his respect, and makes him much friendlier with you in future scenes.

I think this would mean that there isn't just 100% of affinity someone can have with a trait, if that makes sense. It isn't split between all of your affinities, but rather a separate scale for each.

Either that or Ella meant that MC was an exact fit for evolution rather than body specifically, as saying that someone with 50% affinity is an exact fit doesn't quite math.

If this is correct, MC would have an affinity of 100% for body and (presumably) 99% for memory.
Why are you guys talking about affinity, which only Ella can manageably evaluate.

Affinity involves genetics and and mentality of a person, as long as you have enough resistance to the monster genes, to not into a monster but not enough to completely suppress the monster gene, you'd into a superhuman, finding a compatible Monster Parent increases those odds or decreases it. After turning Superhuman, your power will be determined by your Monster Parent and outside influences.

No one has a 100 percent affinity to certain monsters, it's just thanks to Ella that MC has a very compatible Monster Parent, same for Michael, that's all thanks to Ella. Michael wouldn't get Power, if not thanks to Ella, as the conditions are pretty strict.

They just need to be have enough Compatibility, and affinity, no other influences and they'd have a pure Monster trait.

But to be like Mc, half and half right from the start, as a lvl 1, affinity plays a major role, Mc got it easy tho cause his Dad is compatible with Body Trait and her Mother, Memory tainted with something we still don't know, which results 50% Body and 49% Memory, normally there's a need for a ceremony to have 50-50 split trait, which Ella had when she was at lvl 3, which she also failed iirc. Mc's compatibility and the 3rd and 4th that prefers to be together, luckily got him automatic 50-49 trait, at least that's how I understand it. If you think about it, Mc is a miracle child.

The dev is an absolute machine, his work pace is pretty much unmatched in the genre.
Ryukishi07 finished all 8 chapters of Umineko in 3 years and he also wrote all alone. I think the entire Superhuman until now is at least 2 chapters of Umineko worth of text. But yeah WeirdWorld is above average when is about work pace in a VN, especially since he draw a lot of nice art for the game too.

Also, does Umineko have the same level of lore and character depth?

The level of lore and character depth of Umineko is higher than Superhuman, it's the strongest point of Umineko. Especially since is a finished story, when you look back you feel it was worth. It also have their shonen moments but in this aspect Superhuman is better.

But please, don't watch the anime. They butchered the story too much and only made half of the story because it was poorly received. And is indeed bad. The VN is the best experience, if you don't have time the manga is the better alternative.

Alright, mine was a genuine question as I never actually even knew of it. I'm happy to hear of its existence, might try it out some time

I meant more in regards to the WEG genre, where devs taking 3 years to add a scene is a running joke, though I guess it feels odd to put Superhuman there given that a lot of people read (unironically) it for the plot.
