Sorry sweet affection doesn't start anymore, I tried to delete the whole folder and extract all the zip but it doesn't start at all... Can I delete temporary or configuration files that are in folders other than the game's folder?

Do you have some 3rd-party antivirus running? (Norton, Avira, McAfee etc.)
Most of them report false positives and prevent the game from running.

You can also hold SHIFT while double-clicking the SA.exe to change the renderer.
Maybe that'll help?

There is persistent data and saves in:
X:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\ResearchIntoAffection

Thanks for the answer but even deleting the folder in %appdata% the game does not start, can you tell me if there are registry keys to delete to bring everything to the initial state?

But let me ask you... have you downloaded a full LQ or HQ build in a single download, or did you download the split archives?

Or did you download an update and installed it on an older build the update was not intended for without prior updates?

I redownloaded the full version and now it works thanks a lot. Probably the version I had downloaded before was corrupt.

How many more updates before it's wrapped up? I'm just praying for a new game from this dev at some point before the heat death of the universe, with hopefully some of the lessons they've learned implemented but similar themes. One of the few devs that actually cares about pacing. Though it can be a bit tooo wordy to some degree, I love the incremental development where they slowly dress more revealingly and do more and more, without jumping on MC instantly like he's Brad Pitt reincarnated.

But I've had my fill and the prospect of sex scene # 123004 does nothing for me at this point, especially with the game size, how long a replay takes and I care not for non-family side characters, at all. Will join patreon if a new game ever comes. I said similar like 2 years ago, just wondering if we're realistically any closer to the end or this is just another infinite patreon game.

The coming update finishes the last level up of the "normal" levels.

After that, 3 ending stages start with another time schedule and fewer events at home.
That gives JD time to finish all open side character stories as well.

There's currently a poll going for our supporters on SubStar and Patron regarding a possible new game.
That's all I can say about that.

Or you could just use the LQ download which is < 10 GB.

Once you have the current download, monthly updates are very small and easy to DL.

IMO - if you like the story and the women, it is worth it.

If this is not your cup of tea - then no download is worth it.

I'm 99% certain it's not going to be PC.

All the assets for Private Community are in Boom's hands.
JD was the one writing Private Community, but all the visual art came from Boom.

Thanks for the reply I was only asking as I remember this "As I also explained in the second post, we DO want to restart this project under another name and with original assets.(Story remains the same because I've been the writer of it already) " being said although it was some time ago.

As much as I would like PC to get completed, I think, given changes in software and increases in hardware capabilities, it would need to be restarted - and only the story would remain 'mostly' the same.

Even the story would need to be 'refined' since Patreon has become much more aggressive in policing certain tags in the years since PC went on hiatus.

I've come to accept that a new canvas - a brand new AVN - is the way to go so that there are no limits on the story being told.

PC will, IMO, remain one of many fun AVNs that never got to truly shine, abandoned, much like one of many good story ideas that a prolific writer never got around to polishing and bringing to the public.

This is part of what makes SA so special to me.

I believe it will be completed!!

I don't care that it is not everyone's cup of tea, just that I like it, and it won't get the 'Abandoned' tag.
