Ren'Py Sweet Affection [v0.11.9] [Naughty Attic Gaming]

Heh.. In the end I've gave up.. The fact that I've reached more than half of level 6 is a lot to say.. No matter how many times I've tried to following the story and how many times I've posponed it is way too much sluggish. I mean the concept is interesting and so the scenes however they last 2 to 3 times more then they should, the constant reminder of consent is just fking annoying even so cause the mc consent to everything and are always the other 2 making the first move.
I literally can't idenitify with the mc as their emotions are just exagerated and his constant swing between being horny and caring literally make no sense (most of it cause the mc seem a sipleton with a stick in his legs that's received a bonk on his head and him himself can't differentiate his mood and just goes with the flow), i think the game need to have female domination tag cause have literally the same themes (give me wrong..).
Hard to say if i will ever continue reading or i just continue skipping the text just to see new scenes and outfit, just sad.
(btw i think this was already been discussed however the dev should stop putting multiple animation in a single frame as you have to watch a 2 min looping animation with just a slight change of pace or skipping it at all)

Nah, you're not wrong. That's why I gave up on this game ages ago and I got much further... and I didn't even come close to the "end" without using cheats.
It's a kinetic sandbox that's "sold" as wholesome, but it's getting tedious fast.
And your right about the MC too. Dude has a stick up his ass a mile long.
Dude is a passive loser with zero "Main Character" energy and that's because he isn't.
I knew something was off when he, his mom and sis are in bed. He's almost never in the middle holding his girls, he's always on the side. If this were a fem prot game I'd somewhat understand.
But it's a male MC, but the "game" is hardcore female focused.
He's basically an NTR MC trapped in a "wholesome" game and doesn't know what to do.
It’s nice having a game where the MC isn’t a “chad” that wham bams thank you mam(s) all the time while imposing the will of his dick on all his love interests. The slow burn is nice and the over communication during sex is somewhat realistic for romantic couplings that mutually want to get each other off.

Nobody said anything about being a "Chad". A normal person would do nicely. Unfortunately the MC of this game is neither.
The MC is a guy raised by a mother with a father that deserted the family very early in his life.
I've seen a number of guys raised by single moms who are more careful around women - it is how they were raised...
He also strikes me as a bit of an introvert who was never the life of the party - so the exact opposite of a pussy-hound (and - yes - no one is calling him a pussy-hound - I am making a point about the type of guy he is).
Finally - he is (when pursuing Sarah and Shannon) grappling with societal taboos - pursuing two members of his family - so I can understand an abundance of making sure he has consent and being careful.
That makes this MC an outlier for F95 - and that also makes this AVN a different niche story than the kind we usually see when most of the guys we 'meet' are pursuing women they were raised with.
There are also other women to pursue and, IMO, there is not the same level of consent in those relationships that I see with the MC and Sarah/Shannon (I can't speak for all the other 'girlfriend' options as some did not interest me so I never played their paths).
Clearly the slow burn and nature of this MC are not for everyone, but the current dev has continued to deliver monthly updates for 7 years (overcoming some major adversity along the way, including losing the original primary dev) versus becoming yet another abandoned tag we see from many projects that never reach 4 years of development.
I've found plenty of AVNs that, once I found out they were not for me, I just moved on to find something more enjoyable.

The problem isn't the slow burn, though burn is the wrong word, in this case it's glacial, it's the lack of growth.
There is none. It's the same over and over again and over again and over again and over again.
"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."
That's this game in its core.
I am not going to respond to individual messages but I do want to explain a couple things if that is alright.
One thing that is mentioned quite a lot is that I don't listen to feedback.
That is not true, not even in the slightest.
I have learned from feedback and it caused me to do things very differently in my upcoming game.
However, some people expect that I change everything right away.
That might be possible for smaller games or games where developers don't care about their game and/or fans.
But it is not an option to implement all the mentioned feedback in Sweet Affection.
Why not?
Implementing it could be done in two ways.
1. Rework everything I've done so far to make the game flow better and smooth out some of the more dialogue heavy parts. (Especially level 6 and 7)
This would add years of developments time to the cycle.
+ it would be a huge middle finger towards all my supporters that ARE fan of how Sweet Affection currently is and why they started supporting me.
2. Implement changes starting now.
This would divide the game into two sections and make it feel strange.

I have decided long ago that I'm going to finish Sweet Affection in the way that I intended.
And in the way that my supporters are expecting it and as I promised them.
I have stated multiple time to my fans that I will finish Sweet Affection, no matter what.
I'm not going to abandon it because other projects could be more profitable.
I'm not going to rush the endings because other projects could be more profitable.
I started this journey and I intend to see it through till the end.
That is what my supporters deserve, the characters deserve.
Is Sweet Affection perfect? No.
Do I wish I had done things differently? Yes.
I made mistakes along the way.
People know the situation and the entire story of Naughty Gaming know it hasn't been an easy road.
- Partner leaving and having to start from scratch with a new page.
- Catching Covid two times.
- Couple physical injuries.
- People passing away in my family.
But despite that... since I started Naughty Attic Gaming. I have made an update every single month.
And I wish some people would look at what Sweet Affection IS... and not what they want it to be.
The amount of work, love and time I put into it.
The sheer amount of content that is present in the game.
I wish people would look at the positive, and not focus only on the negative.
I am proud of what we made with Sweet Affection. (We as in the team AND the fans.)
I am proud of all the characters.
I am proud of every single supporter that helped me get here.
Like I said, Sweet Affection is not perfect.
But I love every single moment I spend working on it.
And it makes me happy that I'm able to make so many people happy every single month.
That people connect with the characters I'm making.
I'll finish this post off with saying that I understand that people might not like it.
And there is nothing wrong with that, nothing at all.

If you are interested in this AVN, the recommendation is to go with the LQ option.Is this the largest game on this website?
The HQ option is meant for higher end equipment (1440p+ screens) showing more detail and relative to the LQ version, renders/animations are less blurry.
It is hardly the largest though as I've encountered FPS demos weighing in at > 35 GB (and not at 1440 resolution).
The trend to increase resolution or to provide an HD rev of larger AVNs will only drive the need for more TB of storage for our individual systems.

Yea slow burn pacing, romantic love and no "chad MC" fucking everything that moves with 0 effort as they all throw themselves at some average looking dude, is what makes this game unique and fun. It's why I still like it despite it's flaws. However, there are flaws.
There's just too much fluff text even for someone who likes slowburn and personality and character development. They could easily cut out a third or more of the fluff dialogue and literally nothing would be lost storywise and character development wise. It'd still be wayyy more slowburn and romantic than other games.
And at this point it's just definitely too dragged out and outliving it's fun. The story feels complete already. He got the girls. The main characters are super fleshed out and developed. Various kinks have been satisfied. You can only fuck the same characters so many times before it gets boring. We don't need several more years of dragged out repetitive epilogue. Some of the side characters feel like a waste of time too, we're here for the family. Not to mention when your porn game gets to 36GB, it's just time to move on. It was a great game but it feels satisfactorily complete and his next game can be even greater with all the lessons he learned.
So wish he'd just wrap this up with a nice final chapter and get on with full dev time on the new game. Would love to just play basically a very similar slowburn game and similar story but with fresh new characters (and 2-3 sisters instead of 1), even more incremental outfit changes (I love that aspect, how they slowly wear sexier things as they get more comfortable with MC), less side character distractions and like... 33% less fluff dialogue text that just drags things out a bit too long. Dream game right there and I'd support it again for sure.

After the hundredth time I saw the same frame of the sister saying "bunny" I gave up. What's more annoying for this game however, is the fact that we're seeing the exact same frames but for some reason instead of reusing the same picture, he has a different file every time making this the biggest sized porn game ever. It doesn't make sense to create something as bad as this. Skip.
