Or just exploring the world behind Kirito and waiting for the fog, because in reality nothing has happened between Inoda and Asuna for the last million years, in my opinion.I wouldn't say the author forgot. It's mainly due to the addition of more in-depth side characters/stories and the consequences of the end of Part 1. The end result of Part 1 basically made Asuna put an almost full stop to her IRL progression with Inoda, because she's trying to not let things get out of hand. This ends up meaning the only place to corrupt her ends up unfortunately being in FOG.
If you think the story reasons don't make sense, then the other reason is that Fujino is adding more moving parts to their updates. Those moving parts are the side characters/stories. Since Suguha, Sinon, Liz, Kyouko, and Alice's progression ends up either directly or indirectly affecting Inoda, Asuna, and Kirito's relationship with each other, it ends up making the updates having to hyper focus somewhere. That somewhere ends up being FOG probably due to how Part 1 ends. Basically it's possible Fujino could have added a bunch of mini/minor scenes IRL but to be fair those scenes wouldn't have progressed to the point of intercourse and be a repeat of a lot of scenes from Part 1.
The good news however is that IRL progression should hopefully start happening in a few more updates. Depending on how this upcoming update goes, we can probably gauge what the next one will be like. If Fujino mentions the next update will focus on battle updates, then it's probably likely the one right after will finally show significant IRL progression. Asuna should probably be more than corrupted/thirsty for more virtual sex that it'll translate into IRL in probably 3 updates max. That's definitely a long time, but 3 is better than waiting for 8 more I guess. I don't even know if it'll be in 3 updates, that's just my guess with how I think the progression of events is going. But also on the flip side IRL progression could easily start ramping up on the end of November update (if Fujino releases at the end of November) since Asuna theoretically should be corrupted enough to desire some relief to her sexual frustrations IRL.

The extra-irony is that Fujino "tricked" everyone with this one game in particular and so created that expectations that make the "Is gonna be rushed as fuck"-feel for the first time ever in his career, when it was ALWAYS his intention to do so...Fujino's style has always been insta-corruption, hell, some of his games start with the heroine/s ALREADY having been corrupted before the game properly begins, and if not they have their very first "NTR-ed-immediately" event during the first minutes of gameplay. SAO is the one time Fujino tried going the 'slow route' and so most people that don't know his style and only really fixated on this game thought it would have any sort of satisfying or realistic development, but no, it was always gonna be "jumps stupidly fast from not wanting to do X thing to wants to do XXXX thing and swears eternal loyalty to NTR man's cock", the only question is how long is Fujino gonna drag it out, especially when the last time he thought he 'rushed' things too much and tried to backpedal (The rainy night), everyone hated it XD

I also wish that we'd get more IRL updates than FOG but I think everything in FOG right now is just slowly building up Asuna's affinity towards Inoda and doing lewd stuff together making it a "regular/normal" thing. For the first game everything happened under the idea of "i'm his training girlfriend so its okay" only towards the end during the lustful night did that illusion shatter. Personally, I would've loved to see the transition from the first game to the second game to be go back to IRL stuff but Fujino decided to basically soft reset. The only plot devices left right now for any IRL stuff to happen is, everything FOG related is building up to Asuna getting used to and only wanting the pleasure Inoda can give, her gratitude to Inoda for everything related to Mom, and whatever stuff Kirito does to eventually turn her off. Fujino didn't have much success before SAO. His games were okay but didn't stand out in anyway. Only when he tried something different in SAO with the slow corruption and battle scenes did he get global attention. Before when not many cared he can do whatever he wanted without much backlash but now with so many supporters he just can't win no matter what he does. See how he doesn't communicate besides necessary posts and just hope for the best with each update? The price of success I suppose.
There needs some big reason Asuna is suddenly okay with IRL cheating. But it is weird we are 60% of the game but she is still not okay with IRL sex. Even if she agrees to IRL sex in around v0.80 then will there enough time to convince her to carry Inoda's child like in the perks before the ending?

It seems that Fujino has planned too much. Judging by the perks, we are only at the initial stage of Asuna's corruption. I doubt there is enough time for sex in real life in version 0.80. With the pace that we are seeing now, it is, at most, an IRL blowjob. Pregnancy is something from version 1.50. But Fujino has problems with maps, so he will have to divide the game into 2 parts, preferably without losing the pace of the narrative. I hope Fujino will consider this step. But in the last update, Fujino didn't use a very successful move to change the pace of the narrative, so he either has to be very careful or don't give a damn about everything. As an author, it doesn't cost him anything to send the atmosphere and plot to hell and arrange an accelerated corruption of Asuna.
Logically, if Fujino plans to make a cuckold out of Kirito, then nothing prevents some of the events from being postponed at the moment when Kirito will already know everything about Asuna's cheating. But then the game will stop being NTR.

The only strong enough and logical reason for Asuna's betrayal in real life is the video of Kirito and Suguha. Remember this. I think Fujino started the plot of Suguha and Kirito precisely so that there would be a reason to distance and quarrel Asuna and Kirito.
I doubt very much that Fujino is doing this so that Kirito and Suguha will have a strong loving family in the future.

Ah going by the perks I think rather than a big reason, it's going to be the result of this whole build up we've done online. By going by the perks, she's going to see sex as just a physiological need for her own pleasure and need. She's going to obviously try and get it from Kirito but whether its due to him being busy or the actual sex between them just not being an enjoyable experience she's going to end up seeking it from Inoda regularly. I'm guessing that once she wants it and but can't have it in game due to either maintenance or whatever reason Inoda comes up with then that's the reason. The gratitude to him for the mom apparently is what drives her to develop actual feelings for him so might be later on. Also, with regards to the thing you mentioned, I think it's impossible to do it in this version of the game. Given how many things have to happen with regards to role play, other fetishes, and even just other characters. Most sensible way to view things to me is that this whole 2nd game is going to revolve around Inoda seducing Asuna and we end part 2 with her consenting to IRL sex. While the 3rd and final part is going to revolve around everything IRL. Just my guess though.
