Technically, he doesn't have to. There is a simple excuse even I can think of:

Fujino - "I intentionally said the opposite (no to whether Inoda will touch Sugu) to avoid spoiling" (and "I know it'll be controversial but still I decide to do it because this is the best way to push the plot balabala ...").

See? Quite easy, considering him has a history of "taking the easiest way out". And still many people will support him and say "hey I like this", "what a surprise", or "sure, why bother the plot as long as the CGs are hot".

I agree! It seems to me that most people don't care about the plot. If you read the comments on Ci-en, 50% say that the new porn scenes are hot, and the other 50% say about Fujino's new game and Hinata's image. Most people don't care what happens to Suguha or who fucks her, the main thing is to have new hot porn scenes with Suguha. This puts Fujino in a situation where he doesn't have to think much about the plot, the main thing is to create more scenes and explain them more or less logically.

I'm glad we're all united in hatred against this game now. Since there's no longer any hope of a Suguha x Kirito ending, and I know that the developer is literally Inoda, I'm comfortable putting myself in the haters club. We got some great scenes out of it at least...

LMAO, I really don't get why some people are thinking this, really, because of what Inoda shouted during his peak power-ego-trip moment as he fully rewrote Asuna into his slut wife with the power of NTR BS XD? Even if Fujino himself hadn't made it already clear that Sugu is safe from him at least, there is literally NO WAY of Inoda to get either Sinon or her at all, baring Administrator suddenly giving him omnipotent brainwashing powers or something equally silly: Even with Asuna's "help", she has absolutely no way of touching Suguha now that she works under Shino, who has access to the council's resources, and even putting that aside, we're literally starting the final arc and there is no 'time' for it, because now the council dude has decided to traget Inoda's sluts (Asuna and Kyouko), so Inoda is soon gonna be busy with that

Hell, while the words have been brought up a couple times already, I'm surprised no one has yet commented on probably the greatest 'development' technically power-wise on this update...Yui now is on Inoda's side, aka, the most advanced AI available in that world that only can be canonically stopped by plot when the bad guys have either literally offline networks or a copy of the Cardinal System at hand, now is probably willing to do anything for her pig 'daddy', and I doubt Inoda has the same morals Kirito and Asuna have in canon to just treat her like their perfect kid instead of having her hack the stock market without anyone noticing to make them filthy rich or crazier stuff (This is probably gonna be Fujino's 'excuse' for how Inoda 'defeats' the 'undefeatable' council, most likely, as otherwise he would realistically be fucked the moment these guys targeted the Yuukis, but we know it won't because he's the main NTR guy on this game so he's SOMEHOW gonna triumph over Shadow Fox, and Yui is right now the only realistic way he would manage that baring direct divine intervention of Administrator, lol)

So I'm not sure how Fujino himself feels it. Is he happy to be viewed simply as an animation maker who can create hot CGs? Or does he really want to be a game developer who can also write stories that at least make sense (doesn't have to be good, just make some sense), considering he wrote himself that he has invested a lot in thinking about the stories and even is willing to take risks to make controversial plots.

The council captures Suguha and decides to brainwash her too. Yui reconfigures the Council's equipment in such a way that subordination to Inoda is loaded into Suguha's head. PROFIT.

I know it's all very simplistic, but for Fujino it's okay, it doesn't cost him anything to write something like that. If desired, you can come up with several more plot options.

And you also forget that Suguha and Sinon are only strong in the game, in the real world they are ordinary people, but Yui can act both in the game and in the real world. So if Fujino wants to do something with Suguha and Sinon, he can easily do it.

Well, a good plot is not something that most porn games can boast of. And most people play these games just to jerk off. I think Fujino understands this, so his main task is to create new CG with Asuna and other characters, rather than a high-quality story.

you can already see that some people here just wait the udpate to see how Asuna will be railed (I don't judge that. People are free to play the way they enjoy), if other girl will be involved. For them, is the quality content. So it's the same on Ci-en. They just wait a new scene to fap.

For me, I cared about the plot with the asuna corruption at some point, before the story begun to drag. Tbh, is thanks to Suguha and Sinon adventure that I was willing to continue and not just to wait the new scene (if I wanted to only see Asuna railed to oblivion, I'll just go and fetch video of her)

Now, with the brainwash thingy, Yui in the palm of Inoda that'll enable anything Fujino whant, I'll just only look for cg. No need to guess anymore because it's pointless. He can retcon anything.

Tbh, Fujino can just focus to produce scene with simple situation and people will buy it. He's not a good writer but good animator. So, just focus on that.

And it will connect the equipment to RECT servers so that the Yui is powerful. And this will create another invincible ally for Inoda.

I want to believe too, brother. Hopefully, in the future, we won't get burned by this belief.

I think for myself who has been financially investing the game but recently posting; it's a mix of 1. and 3. because the entire premise of SAO isn't meant to be logical; a random NEET becomes the greatest swordsman, saving the world and has a bunch of women falling for him, it's kind of cliche. So trying to make sense of how powerful a tool like brainwashing or AI like Yui is, is something I'm not particularly interested in, maybe it's because I'm not a hard SAO fan (only watched S1,2,GGO). I would say the plot has to make 'some' sense to reach the scenes, and any additional details added are there to enhance that NTR feeling.

But also it's Fujino, and after playing his previous works, you kind of just know you aren't there for the plot, that's a bonus.

The reality is Fujino can easily correct that, with Asuna getting mad with Inoda in the hotel room at first, saying to him that was all nonsense and that never happened, remember Oberon talking about you had to be very careful in how to do it or the mindcontrol wont work/stick here you have the exit for Fujino.
Even in the perks list there's a hint about her being confuse over her fellings even after this last update, she will agree to have Inoda's baby in order to end their relantionship.

Thats actually a good point and as much as I would like to see it happening, I would be afraid to find out what it means for his development process again.
