Update Notes
The update is finally finished just in time for the end of the month.
From my personal perspective, it more or less fulfilled the original concept. What makes this update “significant” isn't just the substantial increase in CGs and text, but more importantly, the fact that this part of the story plays a pivotal role—it bridges what came before and sets the stage for the developments everyone has been waiting for.
Changes in the Creative Process
When SAO Ⅱ was first conceived, it was originally planned to be similar in scale to works like Chainsaw Man or Desire Syndrome. At that time, I wasn’t particularly a devoted fan of Asuna.
But throughout the production process, I gradually grew to like her more and more. Meanwhile, thanks to everyone’s support, the number of fans who love this work has also steadily increased.
As a fairly “fundamentalist” NTR enthusiast, to me, the most thrilling part of a story is the process where the male antagonist seduces the heroine. The most erotic expression lies in those blurred silhouettes seen by the protagonist.
Considerations for Project Adjustments
After outlining the story, I realized it was impossible to tell it properly within a short format. That led to the first major adjustment: turning the project into a long-form series, hence the birth of SAO Ⅱ.
Previous works focused solely on the protagonist’s point of view, but since many people expressed interest in seeing things from Asuna’s perspective, I made changes in that direction.
Due to some mid-project setting changes, the game’s pacing had to undergo a soft reset—Asuna and Inoda’s relationship was briefly rolled back to an earlier stage before being pushed forward again.
However, because the game follows a monthly update schedule, a slow pace would only draw criticism and complaints. Around version 0.3, I implemented a second adjustment to moderately speed up Asuna and Inoda’s progression.
From a pure NTR perspective, the story could have reasonably ended after those first two development phases. I’ve seen comments from NTR fans saying that Asuna and Inoda’s scenes now lack that NTR "flavor."
At that point, I did consider wrapping up the story quickly. But as I mentioned in the last update, many fans want to see more bold and explicit developments after Asuna has been taken. So I’ve decided to stick to the script and complete the full story arc as originally planned.
Even if there are complaints in the comments, as long as there are still people supporting the work, I’ll keep going.
Scrapped Concepts for This Update
Actually, before this update, I had drafted two different scenarios.
One is the one you played.
The other was essentially another soft reboot, taking place in a memory world, using an open-world and time-loop structure. It was an interesting idea and might be used in the future. But it was clearly too risky, so I chose the safer path.
About the New Project
Currently, while still working on SAO Ⅱ, I also held a poll for future projects. This made some people worry that I was stretching myself too thin. But I haven’t actually spent much time on the new project yet.
As mentioned before, the early idea collection was intended partly to understand everyone’s preferences, and partly to gather inspiration.
That said, the old illustration of Hinata I hastily posted last time was understandably criticized—there’s definitely room for improvement.
Since the theme of the new project is still undecided, I haven’t made any enhancements yet. Once the new project is officially confirmed, I’ll revise the character designs accordingly.
Thank you again for your understanding and support. I’ll continue doing my best.
