I am looking forward to see how this thread explodes after the first ending comes out. No way Fujino can make all the endings he wants in one update. Once they get the first ending and it is not the ending they want, then we see some real hate here and on Fujino's other sites.

Yeah that goes for every longer ongoing project though. Saw it sometimes that a dev went for a bad ending first during a last update and then delivering a "good" ending months later with another update. This will always be a bad idea xD.

As for NTR games....well I guess it boils down to pick your poison.

With all that said I do believe if fujino goes for 2 endings for example that they should be achievable in the same update. It's also a bad decision in a gameplay perspective.
How many people go back to a game just for another ending that can be played through in 15 minutes or so.

This last updated rubbed the wrong way many fans, because some of those choices, what created a generalized feeling of subversion of expectations, when he used old SAO canon events as a plot device many fans found that to be a "disrespectful cheap excuse" Fujino himself had to explain that twice to easy fans minds and with the mere suggestion about using Sugu as a target for Inoda, because in doing that any expectations build up by players over her plot line were dismantled or at least soiled by Fujino since he said NO himself when asked about it in the past.

So it boils down to that people are mad that fujino used and stained original SAO events to forward the story in this game.

As for Suguha, many people are way too invested in her but I don't mind if Inoda can claim her as well. I write this as an outsider mind you. I watched SAO Seaon 1 and 2 but that was years ago and I am no diehard fan as well.

What I do agree on what might warrant hate is that fujino goes back on his words.

I'm more or less in the same boat as you i've watched the same seasons and that is it, i've learned more about the SAO lore reading this thread, yeah the hardore fans didn't like that and also the not so serious according to Fujino "Asuna's memory manipulation" in order to insert Inoda in SAO past events before FOG, in my opinion they were just suggestions to nudge her into further corruption, but the fans saw as hypnosis/mindbreak which are lame/lazy trope for NTR and people don't like much.

The Sugu case was because in one of the Fujino's Q&A someone ask him if Inoda would NTR Kirito's sister, and he said point blank NO but never said anything about Sex which are 2 very different things, and if you are playing the game you can notice how Fujino let the character floating arround after he sacked Hebishima from the story until he came up with the Stalker Yandere/Brocon Rapist Spy plot for her and many fans started to build theories and plots upon that, but with one thing in common she would never be touched by Inoda i any way shape or form.
Last update Fujino kind of changed that a litlle with her now being target by Inoda, and with that the fan base went bananas some liking the idea others hating.

About the endings, Fujino is being vague on purpose (spoilers), but he did mention multiple endings, Asuna and kirito's Stats will be important somehow, the players choices also will have a role and maybe he will do a epilogue or epilogues.
By the epilogue alone i think will not have a early ending, and that will be more to Fujino save face if the endings were lacking which they probably will be.

I was feeling a bit down about Asuna turning a real sow and Kirito being stupid as fuck, then i remembered that, Dark Hero Party was heavier than this one but had satisfying endings (at least some of them). I think the difference is the protagonist was aware of what was happening and had some logic at least. Maybe thats why everyone is feeling a bit depressed about this game. But i would say good amount of material to do the business.

Criticism is only somewhat useful if it at least makes an attempt at being somewhat objective and fact-based.
It's also honestly useless as a post in a 1800+ pages thread, no developer in their right mind would dive into this kind of abyss.
Trying to filter out what little useful feedback might be here would be far too time-consuming and exhausting, only to maybe end up listening to a vocal minority and making things even worse.

And taste-based criticism is inherently subjective and therefore useless, because if an author chased after every opinion/taste, the result would be an absolute clusterfuck that probably nobody enjoys, if he doesn't get burned out and gives up long before that.
Listening to people too much can sometimes give worse results than ignoring them.

i'm new to this thread and i supported the dev on ci-en before he moved to nippon. i don't see any overly entitled whiners or know-it-all bitches like you're claiming. all i see is legit and justified criticism from actual players of this game. maybe your iq's just too low to understand what's even going on in the story? other than that, i don't really see any reasoning behind this brainlet comment of yours

No, if a developer wanted to make a senseless game, then at this point he could only create videos. If he makes a game, it has to make sense, otherwise it's stupid and unplayable.
