I had been reading during the game – like the large scene in the council room with Agil and the rest, and the girls following Kuckito during the mission. Had not been following the scenes, thinking they were just that, sex scenes. I knew that Klein and the police gal’s scenes implied more, but thought that was the exception, not the rule. Now though, I will go back.
I think, looking back at it, the main difference in opinion (don’t support not the creator, won’t call it mistake) I would have with Fujino in how the second arc has gone is Liz. Her inclusion feels kind of forced and ehh. Her covering for Inoda is okay, but as a character she rubs me the wrong way.
Suguha is magnificent, her biting attitude towards the girls, the way she is all about her Nii-chan, how helpful she is. Love her, and felt in the original that she should have had more time. In this, if Fujino goes with an ending where Kuckito reverts to Kirito and ends up with Suguha after breaking up with Asuna – however that happens – I would be pleased. Sugu is too damn cute to not have some measure of happiness and for her that means a steady does of Onii-chan dicku.
I can understand people not liking this version of Asuna or canon Asuna. ‘Perfect’ characters are a bit bland even if you’re watching the destruction of that perfection. I don’t agree with it, though.
Other than Liz, I have kind of enjoyed the slow pace of Asuna’s fall. The backtracks, the mental aspect, it feels kind of natural. Good stuff. I was very pleased to see the Semen Drinker thing with the effect of the coffee being felt. I think this update works very well as a segue to more in the future. Asuna has begun to excuse herself in the game by separating reality with the game, some of which comes from Kuckito’s words, and should thus be more open to in-game stuff with Inoda. I would love to see if this led to in-game pregnant sex. I’m into that shit, LOL.
Like others have mentioned, I think it will be a while before Asuna does anything but share pics or allow Inoda to flirt with her via phone in real life. I do enjoy the hints that his flirting with her via phone and everything there was keeping her happy. It does seem to show she’s leaning towards him on an emotional level. I think we might see the /500 affection points change in the near future to possibly being as high as Kuckito, with sex in the VR world leading to cuddling/flirting in the real world over time as her heart shifts.
I don’t know enough about the Yui plotline – she was the fairy, right? – to comment. Although if Fujino is going to make her the center of a series of choices from the player that can influence the ending (saw someone comment she could be on par with the Admin?) that could work. Doubtful, and I trust in Fujino enough to wait and see, although I agree that Inoda somehow becoming the father is the easiest way to explain her not outing Inoda and Asuna later. Maybe it could be tied into something in the real world like, as someone else mentioned, Kuckito being forcibly logged out, or maybe tied into how Kirito can’t really get it up for long thanks to the Admin’s efforts.
Hmm… come to think of it, couldn’t the backtrack others have mentioned in Asuna’s fall from part 1 to part 2… couldn’t that be a comment on Asuna/Kirito’s relationship from season one to season two? Can’t remember much and don’t care enough to go and look, but I have the impression that at the end of season one the viewers were set to see Asuna/Kirito shift from the game to reality, only for Asuna to not be free just yet, thus giving us the whole plot of season 2?
Kuckito in the hospital and then again in the game… ooh boy, his obliviousness is over 9000. Even as a man who has been called both dense and about as social as a tree I can tell when girls are fond of one another and when they are not but are trying to act like they are. It’s funny but also sad how he missed the tension between Asuna/Sugu and then Sugu/Liz and finally Leafa/Sinon. Although it is kind of canon given canon Leafa/Suguha.
Do we have any hint as to the surgery Hebishima went through?
I am enjoying the number of plot-type easter eggs. It’s clear that Fujino has a plot going that is set beside but not entirely part of the NTR plot, which is ambitious and fun.
On the other hand, I am not a fan of the Klein/Alice. Meh. It just feels forced. Which it is from what a remember of earlier scenes with Alice, although I like the fact you don’t have to have Kirito sleep with her. I haven’t chosen any choices except towards Suguha with any of the other girls if I can (and cheated when I didn’t). Being forced to be with Alice, who is seemingly willing to become the town bicycle, would be a major turn off. It is pretty clear that Alice really doesn’t care much about Klein in the past two updates.
