if fujino sensei ever adds someone, it has to be eugeo. inoda would legit shit himself seeing him next to kirito. and when he finds out what happened between inoda and asuna, he wouldn’t even say anything to inoda, he’d just walk past him like he’s not even worth acknowledging.
he’d go straight to asuna, look her in the eyes and say, “you told him you’d always be with him... was that just something you said to feel better in the moment?”
asuna tries to speak, her voice shaky, “i didn’t mean for it to happen like this…”
he cuts her off, still calm, “but it did happen. and you chose it. he waited, he believed in you. and you threw that away.”
asuna lowers her head, almost whispering, “i was tired. everything felt distant. i don’t know... it just happened.”
eugeo doesn’t even flinch. “it doesn’t just happen. you made that choice every time. you betrayed him for your own pleasure. and now he’s the one who has to carry it.”
then he turns to kirito, who's been standing quiet the whole time, not saying a word, just trying to hold himself together. his fists are clenched, but he’s not angry, just completely lost.
kirito finally says, “i kept thinking maybe i did something wrong. maybe i wasn’t enough. yes... it's my fault... asuna would neve-”
eugeo shakes his head slowly. “you were enough. always were. people around you failed, not the other way around.”
kirito looks at him, eyes a bit watery, voice low, “i don’t know what to do anymore, eugeo.”
eugeo steps closer, puts a hand on his shoulder. “then let me carry it with you. like we always did.”
asuna looks up, tears in her eyes now, but she knows it’s too late. she knows no apology will fix it.
he looks at her one last time and says, “you lost something you’ll never get back. hope it was worth it for you, asuna.”
then eugeo walks over to kirito, pulls him into a quiet hug, like he’s holding together what’s left of him. they don’t say a word, just stand there for a moment, and then walk off together, leaving asuna frozen in place. inoda tries to reach out to her, thinking maybe he could fix what’s broken, but she doesn't even look at him. she just stares at the ground, empty. the same way kirito once broke in underworld, when he lost everything. only this time, there’s no alice to pull her back.
