I've been wondering myself about this for quite sometime because realistacally I only see three possible endings. Happy cuck kirito, where he discover that Asuna was cheating but that excites him(this has been building for quite sometime tbh), ignorant cuck kirito where he doesn't discover anything and the break up ending if he discovers the cheating and realize that he is been cheating as well with his sister and sinon.
Any other ending just feels like a rehash of these three general ideas

Just for context, if this is your first time playing this game, which I'd like to believe, what I recommend is; yes, try to complete part 1 and then part 2.

Fujino says he wants to end it around the new year but who knows with his erratic release schedule.
Yeah, like, while everyone obviously won't accept that as an excuse, I feel one of the main reasons this last update felt so short was because Fujino had to make himself cover just half of what he originally intended as he was overworked by his real job as he said (Originally he wanted to cover the final day of Quarantine too for this last update after all). So while his main goal was to finish the game before the year ended it may still end up dragged a month or two into the next one if things go unexpected.
i kinda hope next game he change schedule to 2 month so he can add more to update
i feel like only 1 month is kinda hard to balance around make update and irl job
