Literally the only game on the platform I've been averse to playing simply because I despise the source material, but looking at the reviews, should I play this game? Does the source material mean anything, or can I enjoy this as an avid SAO despiser?

Well, Fujino definitely run out of ideas, as you can tell by this last update, same old song: FOG random mission check, scene run it on the background check, Inoda plot armor check, forced blur events check, new nonsense injected into the plot development check rinse and repeat.
Now the hope is that Fujino don't stretch too much Asuna Investigator route, but the way i see it this route will take at least 3 or 4 more updates to be done, the main route i would say 6 updates what on itself looks great if the overall quality wasn't falling.
The scenes are becoming repetitive and shorter in each new update, the plot is basically non existent at this point, Chadrito was a no show and according to the plot probabily will continue like that.
There's a hint about Kirito acctualy going to the USA for that interniship, so he goes Asuna will stay behind, engaged to him but getting fucked by Inoda, one thing thought how she will fool Kirito over the pregancy since she will no longer have sex with him.
Maybe getting Kirito drunk and slepping naked with him and in the morning saying she loved the night, and since he was drunk he will not remember anything.
This was predictable, but Asuna/Yui will be a thing and Asuna/Kyoko will be done in the next update.
One thing is certain, Fujino is not getting away this time, judging by the Cien crowd he's cooked because after 2 months he came up with another build up and lacking update, so i wish him good luck with his chinese audience.

I woundn't say trash, but lacking, Fujino seems to be in that phase where he want to finish the game and at same time milk the shit out of it, he can't decide which way to go.
Dude, Liz was in Inoda's apartment for the duration of the update. He commented that he will dump the orangutan on the bed as she's passed out so that he can go out and meet kyouko. Then they fuck in the toilets while Liz was unconscious in Inoda's house.

I swear to god this game suffers from a lot of bloat. I don't remember half the stuff that happened in the story, and hiding events based on anxiety values is just gonna make me waste time going to each and every nook and crazy to figure shit out.

Only way not to have problems is just not to play that update. Or wait for the update for that update. That simple.
I still won't be playing it.

As I understand it, this update does not include any normal CG memories with Liz? That's a bit sad. But the update itself is excellent.
