For that to be true, Agil and his wife must be lying about his wife's hospitalization (or have a online wife or something), made an alt account, and pretended not to know Kirito every time met in the FOG. It is possible but a lot of hoops to jump through to be true.
Exactly, the amount of logical hoops and nonsense it would require for that to happen exceeds even the usual dumbassery logic of Fujino's NTR-verse, and would accomplish exactly no purpose beyond being a pointless plot-twist XP
The only possible benefit I see for this twist is Agil is one of the few adults Kirito respects and knows is in a stable happy relationship. If he finds out Agil and his wife are happy with the netorase then it would be more convincing to Kirito to try it himself. But that is still a big IF and not worth all the mental gymnastics needed to reach that point.
Essentially, yes, way too much nonsense involved for something that probably isn't even needed when Fujino is already twisting Kirito's character to suit his needs all the time without actual convincing writing to do so XP
