Its clear a step forward in video quality is needed for game 5 from NLT. I do wonder what stopped him from doing it for SoTS. Maybe rendering times? Size of the game? I dont think the video quality is a "Severe regression."

Hopefully with a more stable team by the end of SoTS, NLT will be more incline to bump up the video quality.

I could see the investment into the new launcher being because of this as well. Every cracked launcher hit would have still used the same hosting. Costing NLT money with no pay out. SoTS will likely be around 10-12GB when its done and dusted. With your HD mod on top of every video, itll be interesting to see how big it could have been.

Many find it difficult to play, it is difficult to complete unusual tasks... many find it difficult to read the answers to a question by returning to the back page... Is it social networks that teach this or an overabundance of content that people strive to master quickly and in full? I don't know... Pictures or videos are better than reading text..
Please don't laugh, but I'm one of those people who in an NLT game wouldn't mind reading more detailed dialogues, more descriptions, more text in general, because NLT has everything in order with the presence of animated scenes..
Moreover, NLT went even further - it makes an almost animated film with voiced phrases of the characters, which you don’t even need to read.
On some level, this is a simplification for a quick audience. I like it, and I understand that many may raise a howl because of the large volumes of text or the need to think a lot... But this is sad.

Pfft! The riddles, combinations and hidden stuff of 90ies skill games would drive them totally mad. Imagine them trying to play Loom, Persia or Indy. Even Lemmings would make them cry after minute.

Im going to guess, with the move to the new engine and the work that created. NLT even saying in an interview it caused more issues than expected. Adding a large jump in video quality would have been way too much scope.

I was hopping if NLT or the moders could add voice over to dialogues, it would be more lively. The story is superb but having to read through all the dialogues is ok , but if they could add voice to these conversations throughout the game, will be a game changer. I am trying to do this but I have no experience in creating mods. But sill I managed to find a way to extract text script from the game so a voice recording can be made. Now I am trying to see whether I can add recorded voice to game and make it play the sound as the text appears. I believe this is possible as NLT has managed to add voice to a very few dialogues. there are other mod ideas the game uses recorded short moan voices to be played during scenes these moans voices can be repetitive although they have specific voices for each characters. The prn video scenes we see only has only limited sound effects the moan voices are pulled from game file. T

NLT has already added a ton of extra voice over in SoTS. Voice acting costs money. Also plenty of players enjoy reading the dialog.

Also what you are trying to do will likely affect the game code, especially with the older games. Which have the dialog entangled into the code. Meaning this wont be a easy add, and could cause huge bugs and game breaks.

Not only did NLT make things more difficult for itself...it now has one set of videos without the need to implement videos for weaker devices. In terms of clear images, videos are inferior to the same TON and TGO, at least we know that NLT has high-quality material in its sources.

SotS has huge potential, which, for reasons that only the developer knows, is not fully revealed to us
It would be an excellent solution for release on platforms like Steam - to prepare improved videos as an option for lovers of beauty.

You are right, I thought about all of these cost and bugs and that's probably why NLT did not do this. I just wanted to know whether some one has managed to do this or thought about the possibility. I am trying to achieve this and if it works I might try exploring AI voice capabilities. These are only my wishes I might try and fail. I just wanted to explore more about this. This discussion about noise made me curious. Amanda is the only character to appear in 3 games so far. From left to right is LE-ToN-SoTS

The body models are being rendered at a higher quality, with better lighting.
Its a shame we havent seen this level of improvement in video quality. Outside of the HUGE jump in quality between LE and ToN

I could say the same on here about people who are incapable of reading and comprehending basic English.

i never said it was hard, in fact I said I did it on the first attempt. What I said, was that it was long and boring and that the controls were quite poor.

At least the canoe game in ToN had interesting graphics, an animated river, rocks to avoid, this was just a blank road and I mean totally blank, with some glowing chevrons to hit. In was uninteresting, both in looks and in mechanics, it went on a bit too long ( there was no sense of making progress or how much was left), the controls were a bit poor, as was the collision detection with the chevrons. But it was easy, as I said, I completed it first time, I never said it was difficult despite what several people have posted.

Amanda from LE is very sexy. Even more beautiful than in TON. I think that as part of TON's secondary characters, she was not given strict requirements for her appearance. I agree with you. The models got better with each game...
Those boobs definitely look amazing.
