It's gotta be more than just season 1 of the old version otherwise they must have replaced all the art with 4k versions cause the entire original S1-4 is just a bit shy of a gig while the S1 redux is pushing 1.5 gigs.

I don't mind that he's revamped some of the formatting cause the old game was, well, old, for sure. I have a history with this game professionaly, but you wouldn't know it because it seems UberPie felt the need to remove my "Special Thanks" section for this update, after working on his game pro bono back in the summer of 18'. Ah well, we all move on!

For the first 6 years of its existence, Uberpie was on Patreon until they booted him off. This is the first release after Uberpie created a page on Subscribestar.
No. It's named Season 1 Redux for a reason. It's just "Season 1."
Don't go by size. Heck, v0.01 "Family Tales" was 700mb unzipped.
I even posted here #35,676 what content from the previous versions (before there was this whole idea of a "Season" thing in 2023) this Season 1 Redux covers. The majority of the story line covers up through v0.9.2. With a few Mary scenes beyond that, and the Jennifer glory hole scene as a dream sequence... as well as most of Sara's content up through v0.9.2 removed to balance that out the scenes added to the content.
What does that mean? Season 1 Redux is primarily the first year's releases of the game (Mar 2018 - Feb 2019) --

** = v0.82.4 revised the entire introduction of the story, adding Taksh and mom, the cops, etc. into the plot, as well as the fake sandbox feel. It was first to be released in late January / early February 2022 but then Uberpie had stretches of radio silence and excuses and all of a sudden bursts of the introduction of the new characters after his release estimate. Then, v0.85.1 was nothing but a major bugfixes for v0.82.4 with no new content.

I essentially answered your question in the post above yours before you asked it. You could go look to the link to the post I submitted earlier that shows all the thumbnails from the gallery for S1 Redux.
Oh I can believe it's just season 1 but my point was you don't massively reduce content and get a 50% increase in size unless you've done something to the game assets. It also wouldn't be the first time a dev went and changed their versioning nomenclature especially when doing a redo. If you've checked it though that's another story.

Right. I understand now what you are saying. The way I read your prior post with the first sentence beginning with the wondering if it is more than one season, I thought that was the thrust of your argument. Sorry.
As for what I now see what you are stating - yes, there's been an increase in number and resolution of the images:
Appr. 2200 images in v0.89.8 (Seasons 1-4)
Appr. 2700 images in S1 Redux (strictly Season 1)
The above image count shows us where AI has advantages - it allows developers to add a lot more images within a shorter time. That said, there hasn't been a similar increase in the lewd scenes as a result, but more images throughout - lewd and not lewd. Also, a lot of images in both versions are locations, background characters, and other composition layers that can be used across many versions.
Of the images Uberpie considers important enough to be included in the CG Gallery:
1519 images in v0.89.8 (Seasons 1-4)
352 images in S1 Redux (strictly Season 1)
That proportion pretty much checks out with 352 being slightly less than 1/4th of 1519.
And yes, the images in S1 Redux appear to be created for 4K resolution.

Oh, come on now, don't get all huffy because people keep asking what's in the Season 1 Redux. Not everyone knows what "Redux" even means, and honestly, folks are just desperately clinging to the hope that maybe, just maybe, it's not a reheated serving of the same old stew. So naturally, they'll keep asking, fingers crossed that the answer might someday be anything other than "READ! IT'S CALLED SEASON ONE, NOT SEASON ONE TO FIVE!"
And if we're pointing fingers here, it’s not really about people's relentless questioning, is it? It's more a testament to the Uberpie team's stellar communication skills, or lack thereof. As one user brilliantly noted, this mystery surrounding the Redux could have been avoided with a sprinkle of transparency. After all, a good chunk of the so-called "freeloading public" used to be loyal supporters who felt the cold stab of betrayal and wandered off, only to haunt the sidelines like the ghost of patrons past. They're peering over the fence, wondering if the grass will ever be as lush and green as it once was, ready to dive back into the support pool if the stars ever align again.

Um, go back and read the past year's posts in this thread. Most of this was predicted exactly as it is turning out. As early as last March - April - May - June, this was predicted. It's not about hindsight. It's about having foresight.
Also, with the same electronic device you typed out your missive a person can search the largest repository of information ever available to the public --- at your literal fingertips. There is no excuse in this day and age we live in to not learn something new simply by utilizing the internet (wisely and critically, of course)... unless you're one of the 2 billion out of 8+ billion who don't have access to the internet. But when more people have possible access to the internet than running or even clean water in the world and the fact people are browsing this forum, I'd assume they have access.

While I agree Uberpie communication skills suck (and I have stated so many many times in this thread), when they decided to pull out this new idea of seasons back with the release of v0.95.7 on 01 Jul 2023, Uberpie stated (#28,387):
We’ve decided to divide Taffy Tales into seasons, with this update marking the beginning of season 5. (We will release seasons 1-4 as separate downloads soon).
Soon is relative for Uberpie. Even then we knew soon wouldn't be anywhere near soon. That's part of Uberpie's poor communication, foresight, and planning.
After Uberpie was kicked off of Patreon in early March 2024, he stated they would focus on making the current content available on Steam and maybe open a Subscribestar. Then they made the Subscribestar in late March 2024. Getting kicked off Patreon is what escalated Uberpie's promise on when soon would be:
- 1 Apr: We're diligently continuing our work, primarily focusing on preparing Seasons 1-4 for Steam.
- 10 Apr: We are currently reworking Seasons 1-4 for release on Steam.
- 7 May: Just touching base to let you guys know we’re still chipping away at reworking season 1 for Steam release.
- 21 May: We're continuing to work on the main script and small talks for Season 1 on Steam.
- 4 Jun: In addition to the huge amount of reworked content being undertaken, we want to confirm that season 1 will now have new, exciting, routes for both Mary and Tiffany. That's bound to make season 1 even more exciting than it already is!
But I think you get the idea. Yeah, Uberpie sucks at communication. But it's been quite clear it was only going to be the beginning portion of the game that was getting the first Redux release.

What was unclear was where the break was going to be for Season 1 to end.... But succhiale was pretty much spot on back in October 2024:

Now we see why Uberpie's estimate of 5 Seasons was off... and even eventually thinks it's only 3 seasons--- they moved v0.8 and v0.9 out of Season 2 and into Season 1 (while leaving Sara's scenes out). Kind of vindicating my initial take. Still, based upon Season 1 Redux - there's 5 Seasons if the content were divided similarly. Because Uberpie is now underestimating the amount of content in v0.22, v0.47, v0.68.
But, I apologize to succhiale for doubting their work. They had done their research.

What the hell is the "Redux" even about? Animated menu and some low quality AI pictures... There's no difference, no animation to scenes that could have made a difference like super glue scene of Clara or Mary's bedroom scenes... This is as bad as I thought. Redux= garbage in>garbage out with some garbage AI pictures.
